Mama Cozzi’s Stone Baked Crème Fraîche-Infused Ultra Thin Crust Pizza
Don’t underestimate Aldi when it comes to finding delicious pizzas of all sorts. From deep dish single-serving pepperoni pies to minimally processed cheese pizza from Italy, the German grocery store stocks different pizzas in its limited-buy freezer aisle just about every week. I’ve always got an assortment of Aldi pizzas in my own deep freezer.
This week only, Aldi is selling some pizzas I’m not sure I’ve seen before. They’re stone baked ultra-thin crust pizzas with a crème fraîche-infused crust. Crème fraîche is a type of cultured cream that’s similar to sour cream or yogurt. It’s versatile and is good with soup, pasta, and various desserts, among other things.
The Aldi crème fraîche-infused pizzas come in two varieties: pork carnitas and steak & mushroom.
The pork carnitas pizza features “seasoned pork, taco sauce & red onions on a crème fraîche-infused ultra thin crust.” The steak & mushroom pizza features “porcini sauce, mushrooms & seasoned beef steak slices on a crème fraîche-infused ultra thin crust.”
Mama Cozzi’s Stone Baked Crème Fraîche-Infused Ultra Thin Crust Pizza is an Aldi Find. That means it’s in stores for just a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is sold out at your local store.
We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. I paid $7.49 per pizza at my local Aldi in May of 2025. The pork carnitas pizza is sold in a 17.5-ounce package, which comes out to about 43 cents per ounce. The steak & mushroom pizza comes in a 19-ounce package, which is about 39 cents per ounce.
These pizzas are sold under the Mama Cozzi’s brand. There isn’t a company called Mama Cozzi’s. Rather, that’s the name Aldi puts on the various pizzas it sells to give the packaging a uniform look. Aldi sources its different pizzas from multiple suppliers.
If you’re looking out for allergens, both pizzas contain wheat, milk, and soy.
The boxes have directions for baking the pizzas in a conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Remove the pizza from all packaging (including the cardboard under the pizza). Place the frozen pizza directly on the middle rack in the oven. (I used a special pizza pan.) Bake the pork carnitas pizza for 16-19 minutes, or bake the steak & mushroom pizza for 17-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown. Allow to cool 5 minutes before slicing and enjoying.

Mama Cozzi’s Stone Baked Crème Fraîche-Infused Ultra Thin Crust Pork Carnitas Pizza:

This is a bit light on the pork, and what pork it has is on the mushy side. I also had to rearrange some of the diced red onions before baking, since it appeared to have shifted mostly to one side of the pizza during shipping.
Otherwise, this is a good pizza. It has a flavorful thin crust topped with taco sauce and plenty of cheese. I made it for lunch, and the rest of my family tried the leftovers when they came home from school and work, and everyone liked it. I would buy this one again.

One pizza serves about four people. This is pizza, so it’s got its share of fat, saturated fat, sodium, and carbs.

Mama Cozzi’s Stone Baked Crème Fraîche-Infused Ultra Thin Crust Steak & Mushroom Pizza:

This is another good pizza. It’s got more mushrooms than steak, but I’m not too surprised by that. It has a nice savory sauce and plenty of cheese. I wouldn’t hesitate to pick this up again if it’s still in stock the next time I go to Aldi.

One pizza serves about four. Again, this has a good amount of fat, saturated fat, sodium, and carbs, so it’s best enjoyed in moderation.

Note: again, the ingredients actually do list sugar, but apparently it’s not enough to register in the nutrition information panel.
The Verdict:
Mama Cozzi’s Stone Baked Crème Fraîche-Infused Ultra Thin Crust Pizza comes in pork carnitas or steak & mushroom varieties. These are good pizzas, and we like both varieties equally. They’re a bit light on the pork or steak toppings, but otherwise they have plenty of flavor and lots of cheese.
