Disney + Grinch Character Holiday Mugs Landing at Aldi

For many people, nothing completes a Christmas morning scene like a steaming hot beverage. For my grandfather, it was coffee, black. For my wife, it’s tea, maybe with honey. Even if you don’t like coffee or tea or the like, you might still appreciate the image of a person cradling their mug in their hands while watching the kids tear open their presents.

The beverage, of course, is the most important part, but the cup itself is no small thing, either. People can get quite serious about their mugs, as evidenced by the endless variety of mugs out there to fit just about every conceivable interest.

What better way, then, to celebrate the holidays than with a mug that was made just for the holidays? Aldi certainly thinks so, which is why the grocer landed a slate of mugs just ahead of the winter season.

What We Know:

The Aldi Character Holiday Mugs are an Aldi Find. That means they’re only in stores for a limited time. Each Aldi location gets one shipment, and once that shipment is exhausted, you won’t be able to find them until they return to stores next year … assuming they return at all. If you can’t find them, sorry – you’re likely out of luck. You can’t order these online from Aldi if they’re out of stock at your local store.

In 2025, the mugs retailed for $4.99. You probably don’t need me to tell you that this is cheap. Amazon mugs are, for instance, considerably more expensive, including many that look a lot like the ones Aldi is selling.

The cups come in five styles. One of them is the Grinch. The other four are Disney-owned properties: the Nightmare Before Christimas, Star Wars, Winnie the Pooh, and, of course, Mickey Mouse.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t (yet) tried out these mugs, so we don’t know how well they work, how durable they are, or what they’re made of. They appear to be ceramic from the pictures. Also, since Aldi has little information about them on its site, we don’t know whether they’re dishwasher safe or microwave safe.
