Aldi is Selling Halloween-Themed Cheeses

EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated for 2024.

Aldi is great when it comes to introducing novelty themed cheeses, whether it’s Valentine’s Day cheese, St. Patrick’s Day cheese, or Cheese Advent Calendars.

For the last few years, Aldi has sold an Emporium Selection Halloween Cheese Assortment during the leadup to Halloween.

This cheese is an ALDI Find (Special Buy), which means it will only be at Aldi for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, these are gone until next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

The cheese costs $4.29 for a 5.3- to 7-ounce package in 2024. That’s the same price it cost in 2022. That’s up from $3.99 per package in 2020 and 2021.

The cheese flavors can be subject to change over the years. The flavor selections for 2024 are as follows:

  • Bat Knit Crazy Cheddar: a 5.29-oz. aged cheddar cheese. This is packed in a black wax coating with a whimsical picture of a bat wearing a knitted sweater.
  • Freaky Franken Sage Derby: a 7 oz. mild Derby cheese with dried sage. This is packed in a clear plastic wrapper with a Frankenstein character image.
  • Pumpkin Spice Wensleydale Cheese: a 6-oz. Wensleydale cheese with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. This is packed in an orange wax coating shaped like a pumpkin with a printed jack-o-lantern image.
  • Death by Garlic Black Garlic Cheddar Cheese: a 6-oz. cheddar cheese. This is packed in a black wax coating with a vampire mouth with sharp teeth printed on it.

One cheese flavor we haven’t seen in the 2022 or 2024 ads is No Rest for the Wicked, a strawberry- and Prosecco-flavored Wensleydale cheese that was available in 2020 and 2021.

Aldi gets props for using unique ingredients such as sage and cinnamon to flavor these cheeses, and they might be just want you need to counteract all the sweets on Halloween. While you’re picking up your Halloween cheese, don’t forget to get a few spooky yard decorations, too.

Happy shopping, and happy haunting!
