In 2010, in season two of the popular sitcom Parks & Recreation, lead character Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler) introduced the world to the concept of Galentine’s Day. Galentine’s Day is a celebration of friendship, and specifically friendship between or among women. It’s usually observed on February 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day, although it can be celebrated any time between February 1st and Valentine’s Day on February 14th.
According to Leslie Knope, Galentine’s Day is “only the best day of the year.” She says it’s a day to leave boyfriends and husbands at home, go “kick it breakfast-style” at a restaurant or diner, and celebrate your female friends.
These days, you’re likely to find Galentine’s Day-themed products such as mugs, cards, shirts, and more for sale at retailers such as Walmart.
This year, Aldi is also getting in on the Galentine’s Day craze with a special line of candles.
What We Know:
Huntington Home Galentine’s Candles (Product Code: 710391) are Aldi Finds, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back next year. You can’t order these online from Aldi if they’re sold out at your local store.
These are scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores on January 24th, 2024.
Huntington Home Galentine’s Candles cost $3.99 each. Candles are 3.4 ounces. That’s less than what other Galentine’s Day candles cost on Amazon.
These come in four different scents with special printed labels featuring words of affirmation or funny phrases:
- Sweet Bouquet (Girls Run the World)
- Golden Peaches (There for You)
- Fresh Freesia (Friends are Forever)
- Fruity Sangria (Wine is my One True Love)
These are sold under the Huntington Home brand. This isn’t a company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for various home goods.
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t yet purchased these candles, so we don’t know how well they burn, how good they smell, or how strong their scents are. We write open threads to offer readers a place to discuss Aldi products.
