Simply Nature Brekkie Bites

Who wouldn’t want to eat cookies for breakfast?

Okay, they’re not exactly the same as traditional cookies, but Aldi occasionally sells breakfast cookies made with whole grain oats and flavored with chocolate chips and bananas or with mixed berries.

Simply Nature Brekkie Bites

Simply Nature Brekkie Bites cost $2.99 for a 6.35-oz. box at the time of publication. Each box contains five 1.27-oz. packages that each contain one serving — or two breakfast cookies — which comes out to about 60 cents per serving.

These are an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Remember, Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so once these sell out at your local store, they’re gone until next time.

As mentioned above, Brekkie Bites are available in two flavors: Banana Chocolate or Mixed Berry. These breakfast cookies are marketed as gluten free, allergy friendly, kosher, vegan, and non GMO. Each flavor contains 14 grams of whole grain per serving.

These were a big hit with my family. They’re soft like a cookie, with plenty of oat texture, and a light sweetness. Everyone liked both flavors, but we all had our favorites. I’m more partial to the Banana Chocolate, but I’ll happily eat the Mixed Berry.

At only 5 grams of added sugars per serving, I feel better about buying these for my family compared to other quick breakfast items such as Pop Tarts that are high in sugar. These also make for a nice snack any time of day.

Read on for a closer look at each flavor.
