Our home drinks a fair bit of tea.

Rachael is the undisputed champion in the family tea leaderboard. Two cups a day is not out of the ordinary for her, and on certain days you can’t rule out a third cup, either.

I’m a comparative welterweight. I often take a cup to work, but not always. Two cups a day is a sometimes thing. And three? Rare. Still, I do my part.

Our collective tea output is good enough that we can write with confidence about tea, a product Aldi does stock in a number of varieties across both its everyday and limited buys. Whenever Aldi does something new or different in the tea universe, we notice.

We noticed this tea that initially dropped during the 2024 holiday season and is back again for the 2025 season. We decided to pick up the box to try in 2025.

The Benner Tea Gift Box is an Aldi Find. It’s only in stores for a limited time. Each store should get one shipment, and once it’s sold out, it’s sold out. A holiday item like this won’t be back until the next holiday season, so if you can’t find it in stores, you’re out of luck. Also know that Aldi doesn’t ship products through the mail.

In 2025, the tea gift box cost $5.99. That’s the same price it cost in 2024. That’s less than anything we could find on Amazon. With 48 tea bags in the box, it comes out to about 12 cents per tea bag.

The box comes with 48 tea bags in six flavors. It comes with 8 servings each of the following flavors.

• Vanilla Caramel Black Tea — Contains black tea, vanilla flavor, and caramel flavor. This smells good and tastes fine.
• Cinnamon Pear Green Tea — Contains green tea, cinnamon flavor, and pear flavor. This has a nice cinnamon and pear scent. The flavor is more muted, with more pear notes than cinnamon. It’s decent, though.
• Apple Chai Black Tea — Contains black tea, apple flavor, and chai flavor. We like this one okay.
• Earl Grey Lavender Black Tea — Contains black tea, bergamot flavor, and lavender flavor. This doesn’t really have the type of classic Earl Grey flavor I’m accustomed to, but it’s all right, and the lavender notes are noticeable.
• Chocolate Chai Black Tea — Contains black tea, chocolate flavor, and masala chai flavor.
• Mandarin Ginger Green Tea — Contains green tea, mandarin flavor, and ginger flavor. This has a noticeable ginger bite with a bit of orange flavor. It’s not bad.

A few, but not all, of these were also in Aldi’s Tea Advent Calendar earlier in the 2024 holiday season, which we thought was rather forgettable.

The tea in this boxed set seems a bit better than what was in last year’s Advent calendar. It’s not gourmet tea and, honestly, I can think of better tea brands to give if you’re looking for a gift for a tea afficionado. However, this tea is okay.

All of these tea flavors contain caffeine, with the black tea containing more caffeine than the green tea, but all of these still have less caffeine than a cup of coffee. You can read more about caffeine content in various types of tea here.

The box has serving suggestions. Use one bag per cup. Pour in boiling water and stir. Allow to infuse for 3-5 minutes.

The Verdict:

The Benner Holiday Tea Gift Box is a limited-edition assortment sold during the holiday season at Aldi. These aren’t gourmet teas, but they’re all right, and we like them better than many of the teas in the Aldi tea Advent calendar.
