If you pay much attention to the Aldi weekly print ads, you’ll notice they often have themes. One week might feature pet supplies or children’s toys. Another week might highlight bartending supplies and kitchen products. Yet another week might be all about redoing your bedroom or bathroom with cute linens, rugs, towels, and other accessories.

Recently, the ad featured a variety of home goods and kitchen items with a coastal theme that invokes images of the beach or an oceanfront home or cottage. The ad encourages customers to “bring home the coast.” The weekly limited-edition specials include area rugs, curtains, a bamboo pendant light, ceramic candles, decorative lanterns, terracotta bowls, faux plants, and more. For the kitchen, products include saute pans and fry pans, spoon rests, trivets, and utensils all in clean and bright coastal or beachy colors such as light blue and cream.

Included among the coastal themed products are some ceramic and sea glass canisters. These are ideal for storing food such as tea, coffee, baking supplies, cookies or other snacks, and more. They could also be used in a bathroom for storing small toiletries and cosmetics. I own a different set of Aldi canisters that are great for holding my collection of tea bags.

The coastal ceramic and sea glass canisters are all sold under the Crofton brand. Crofton is not a company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for assorted kitchen products such as covered stoneware baking dishes, ceramic ramen noodle bowls, divided serving trays, and more.

Both the Crofton Coastal Ceramic Canisters and the Crofton Sea Glass Canisters are Aldi Finds, so they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not in stock at your local store.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t purchased either of these canister sets, so we don’t know how well they work or how durable they are. We write open threads so readers can talk about Aldi products.

  1. I LOVE the look of the sea glass cannisters. I purchased them to keep coffee and espresso in. HOWEVER. They do not have a gasket on them, so the lids don’t seal at all. They are therefore, useless to me and I will be returning them to the store. Such a shame!

  2. I purchased both sets to use as counter decor and love them
They are a great value! I still haven’t decided what to fill them with and would love any suggestions.
