Emporium Selection Mozzarella Cheese in Marinade

Cheese makes everything better. You can add it to bread and meat for a sandwich. You can sprinkle it on top of pizza. You can dip your nachos in it. My family can often be found snacking on a variety of cheeses, ranging from string cheese to cubes to specialty cheese.

One of our favorite cheese products to enjoy during the summer is marinated mozzarella from Aldi. It’s sold in the refrigerated deli aisle with all the other cheeses and lunchmeats. This little plastic container holds delectable balls of mozzarella cheese swimming in oil and seasonings.

Emporium Selection Mozzarella Cheese in Marinade cost $3.29 for an 8-ounce container at the time of publication.

This is a Seasonal Item, which means Aldi stocks it for longer than an Aldi Find, but Aldi does not sell it all year. Aldi generally carries this during the warmer months in the spring and summer. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not currently in stock at your local store.

The package states this should be eaten within three to five days after opening. That has never been a problem in my house. The container is so small and the cheese is so delicious that it all gets eaten as soon as it’s opened.

If you’re looking out for allergens, this naturally contains milk.

The full ingredients list includes pasteurized milk and cream, vinegar, vegetable enzymes, salt, canola oil, olive oil, garlic, red pepper, salt, and spices. (Yes, salt is listed twice. I don’t know why.)

One container has about eight servings. Our container had 11 mozzarella balls, so the math is a little wonky.

One serving has 140 calories, 14 grams of total fat (18% DV), 3 grams of saturated fat (15% DV), 50 mg of sodium (2% DV), 1 gram of total carbohydrates (0% DV), no sugars, and 3 grams of protein.

When I buy this cheese, I often serve it alongside a meal such as BBQ pork loin sandwiches or grilled meats. It’s also great as a snack, but the container is small enough that if you’re feeding multiple people, they may want more to snack on after devouring these. This cheese can be a little messy to serve because the oil tends to drip when you spoon the cheese balls out of the container.

The cheese itself is wonderful. The mozzarella is soft and flavorful, and the herbs, oil, and seasonings give it a perfect flavor that tastes like summer.

The Verdict:

Emporium Selection Mozzarella Cheese in Marinade features balls of mozzarella cheese swimming in a delicious blend of oils and seasonings. It disappears in a matter of minutes in our house. If you like cheese, you’ll like this.

  1. Salt is listed twice because it’s accounting for the salt in the mutz and in the oil seasoning blend

  2. We like this cheese too! I like to buy this and another container of plain mozz balls and combine them. There is plenty of the oil dressing to marinate more cheese!
