Happy Farms Snack Packs

Dips are always satisfying, whether it’s tortilla chips and queso, bell peppers and hummus, or pita chips and spinach artichoke dip. Sometimes, you want to be able to take your dip on the go to work, school, or simply a day out and about. Aldi sells some portable options, including single-serve guacamole cups and single-serve chicken salad cups.

Or, I recently picked up some cream cheese and pretzel/graham cracker snack packs from Aldi. These look ideal to tuck into a lunchbox with an ice pack or to take on a picnic. They also look similar — though not identical — to name-brand Philadelphia cream cheese and multigrain bagel chip snack packs.

The Aldi snack packs feature plastic containers divided into two sections. One section contains flavored cream cheese dip, while the other section contains graham crackers or pretzel twists. They come in three flavors depending on whether you’re craving something sweet or savory: strawberry cream cheese dip with graham crackers, garden vegetable cream cheese dip with pretzels, and jalapeño cream cheese dip with pretzels.

Happy Farms Snack Packs

Happy Farms Snack Packs are Regular Buys, which means you should be able to find them at Aldi all year. You’ll find these in the refrigerated aisle near the cheeses, deli meats, and other dips. They need to be kept refrigerated.

These cost $1.49 for a 2.25-ounce package at my local store at the time of writing. That comes out to about 66 cents per ounce.

For comparison, Philadelphia bagel chip and cream cheese dip snack packs cost about 79 cents per ounce at Walmart at the time of writing. That makes the Aldi packs a good deal.

These Aldi packs do contain some processed ingredients such as natural flavor and various gums in the cream cheese dips and corn syrup in the pretzels. The strawberry/graham cracker pack contains some added sugar as well.

The good news is that they do offer a small amount of protein, so you aren’t filling up only on simple carbs. These are also packaged in relatively small portions, which might be important to some people, although the packaging does create a fair amount of plastic waste.

Happy Farms Snack Packs 2

From left to right: strawberry, garden vegetable, and jalapeno.

I found that all of these have a good ratio of dip to crackers or pretzels, and we had some dip left over after eating all the crackers and pretzels. In fact, we pulled out a few Thin Wheat crackers to finish off the savory dips.

Keep reading for our thoughts on each snack pack variety.

Happy Farms Strawberry Cream Cheese Dip with Graham Crackers:

This is decidedly sweet, in terms of both the graham crackers and the strawberry-flavored dip. It’s a good dessert, especially if you’re in the mood for something like strawberry cheesecake. For the most part, the graham cracker squares seem to hold up to dipping.

Happy Farms Garden Vegetable Cream Cheese Dip with Pretzels:

This was possibly my favorite of all the snack packs. The dip is savory, with small bits of minced veggies adding just a bit of texture. The pretzels are thick and hearty and are great for dipping.

Happy Farms Jalapeño Cream Cheese Dip with Pretzels:

This is on the upper end of mild in terms of spice level. This is a good dip, with small slivers of minced jalapeño here and there. Again, the pretzels are thick and great for dunking.
