While most of the products you’ll find at Aldi are private label brands that are exclusive to Aldi, the grocer does stock a few select name brands. Some name brands are everyday buys you can find all year, while others rotate in as limited-time specials.

One name brand I see from time to time at Aldi is Screamin’ Sicilian pizza. This is a family-owned craft pizza company based out of Wisconsin. The story goes that the company got its name because its founder, “Papa Palermo” Fallucca, a Sicilian immigrant who arrived in the U.S. in 1954, would get excited about his pizza and speak in a loud voice, prompting people to ask why he was screaming at them. He would answer, “I’m not screamin’!”

Screamin’ Sicilian is part of the Palermo’s family of brands, based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

You can find certain Screamin’ Sicilian products at various retailers, including Walmart, Target, and traditional large grocery stores. The product line includes a variety of pizzas such as thin crust, loaded pan, tavern style, thin and crispy, original, and stuffed crust, along with stromboli. However, in my experience, the selection at local stores may not include all of the brand’s products.

Most recently at Aldi, I found thin crust Screamin’ Sicilian pepperoni pizza. The box states this has an “overtopped crust,” and it advertises, “I’m crispy.”

Screamin' Sicilian Pepperoni Pizza

Screamin’ Sicilian Pepperoni Pizza is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone until whenever Aldi decides to bring it back, whenever that might be. Aldi does not offer online ordering for this pizza if it’s sold out at your local store.

Screamin’ Sicilian Pepperoni Pizza cost $4.99 for a 12.95-ounce pizza at the time of publication. With three servings per pizza, that comes out to about $1.66 per serving.

This pizza was also advertised in a cheese version, but I couldn’t find that one at my local store.

The back of the box also has directions for baking the pizza. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Remove all packaging from the pizza. Place the pizza on the center rack in the oven. (I put mine on a special pizza pan.) Bake for 11-13 minutes.

My pizza came out great. It has a crispy thin crust, a good amount of pepperoni, and a decent amount of cheese. Our taste testers all approved. We would buy this again.

The Verdict:

Screamin’ Sicilian Pepperoni Pizza features a thin, crispy crust, mozzarella cheese, and plenty of pepperoni. The Screamin’ Sicilian brand is not exclusive to Aldi, but various products in this line do seem to show up in the Aldi Find freezers from time. This pizza was good and we recommend it.
