Simply Nature Organic Chipotle Ranch Dressing

We eat a lot of salad in my house, either as a side to a meal, or as a main course served with a protein like grilled chicken or taco-seasoned ground turkey. Classic ranch is our favorite dressing. The bottled stuff is fine, or we love making ranch dressing using a seasoning packet Aldi sells. We occasionally foray into other types of dressings such as Italian, Caesar, or honey mustard. Yet still we always come back to ranch.

I’m open to trying different styles of ranch dressing, including a chipotle version Aldi sells.

Simply Nature Organic Chipotle Ranch Dressing

Simply Nature Organic Chipotle Ranch Dressing is a Regular Buy, so you should be able to find it at Aldi all year.

This cost $2.55 for a 12-ounce bottle at my local store at the time of writing. That’s about 21 cents per ounce.

This is certified USDA organic. You’ll find it on the room-temperature shelves at Aldi. Shake the bottle well before using, and refrigerate it after opening.

If you’re looking out for allergens, this contains eggs and milk.

Ingredients are water, soybean oil, distilled vinegar, sugar, cultured buttermilk powder (skim milk, lactic acid, starter culture), sea salt, and less than 2% of egg yolk, black pepper, lemon juice concentrate, garlic powder, onion powder, dried chipotle peppers, xanthan gum, natural flavor, salt, natural flavor, lactic acid, cayenne pepper, and parsley.

A 2-tablespoon serving has 120 calories, 12 grams of total fat (16% DV), 2 grams of saturated fat (10% DV), 290 mg of sodium (13% DV), 2 grams of total carbohydrates (1% DV), no dietary fiber, 2 grams of total sugars, 1 gram of added sugar (3% DV), and no protein.

This is a moderately spicy dressing, as you might expect. You can definitely taste the dried chipotle peppers and cayenne pepper in this. If you like spicy food, you’ll like this. One family member likes this dressing not only on salads but also as an all-purpose dip for everything from veggies to chicken wings or grilled chicken.  My only criticism of this dressing is that the spicy flavor seems to overpower any ranch flavor it has, so all you taste is the spice. I sometimes like to mix this with some regular ranch dressing to cut the spiciness and also to add ranch flavor. Otherwise, it’s a good dressing.

The Verdict:

Simply Nature Organic Chipotle Ranch Dressing features dried chipotle peppers and a little bit of cayenne pepper for a dressing that has a medium spice level. This is a good dressing if you like some kick. It’s good not only on top of salads but also as a dip with chicken wings and other foods you might want to serve with a dip or sauce. We do wish this had more ranch flavor, though.
