Snapps Appetizers Chicken Bacon Ranch in a Soft Roll

As much noise as Aldi shoppers make about the non-food items in the store’s middle aisle, there is another part of the limited buy section that deserves just as much attention. That would be the Aldi Finds that you can find in the grocer’s chest freezers. These frozen foods make up some of the most interesting parts of the rotating inventory, from tasty desserts to deluxe entrees. I like a good air fryer as much as anyone, but some of my most memorable Aldi Finds have come out of these chest freezers.

That’s why I always try to swing around to look at the frozen Aldi Finds when I’m in the store. Not only are there a healthy number of options out of the ad, but Aldi is known to stealth release some pretty fun stuff, too.

Not long ago, I spotted these little things sitting in the limited buy frozen section. I picked one up to try it out.

Snapps Appetizers Chicken Bacon Ranch in a Soft Roll

Snapps Appetizers Chicken Bacon Ranch in a Soft Roll are an Aldi Find. You can only find them in stores for a short time, and once they’re sold out you won’t be able to get them again until they come back, whenever that might be. Aldi doesn’t ship products online, so if you can’t find them in stores, you’re out of luck.

Snapps is a national brand, not an Aldi private label. You can find Snapps at places like Walmart and Kroger.

At the time of this post, these come in a 3.5-ounce pack and cost $1.48. That comes out to 42 cents an ounce. The package advertises that these contain chicken, creamy Ranch, Applewood bacon, and mozzarella cheese.

These are a processed food with a lot of unhealthy components. In addition to the lengthy ingredients list, one of these has 310 calories, 16 grams of fat (21% of your recommended daily value), 4.5 grams of saturated fat (23% DV), 30 milligrams of cholesterol (10% DV), 530 milligrams of sodium (23% DV), and 28 grams of carbs (10% DV).

Allergens include eggs, milk, soy, and wheat.

The package gives two methods for preparation: microwave and oven. To microwave, remove the product from the packaging and set on a microwave-safe plate. Then, microwave on high for 1 minute. Allow to stand for 1 minute before serving.

To bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Remove the product from packaging and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 13-15 minutes. Finally, allow to stand for 1 minute before serving.

As I assume most people will go for the speed of microwave prep, that’s how I made this. The instructions were spot-on, cooking from frozen to hot in 1 minute.

Our testers liked it. There isn’t a ton of filling, but there is some, and the four components — the chicken, the Ranch, the bacon, and the cheese — are all there. It’s a pretty rich flavor, and the dough, while not overly seasoned, is a fine enough pocket.

The Verdict:

Snapps Appetizers Chicken Bacon Ranch in a Soft Roll are tasty little savory treats. Our testers like the blend of flavors. These are both fairly expensive — nearly $1.50 for a small 3.5-ounce roll — and high enough in a few unhealthy categories that we see this as an occasional food rather than something to eat often.
