Trader Joe’s Rolled Oats & Chocolate Chips Fiberful Granola Bars
Granola bars are no doubt some of the easiest snacks to pack and take places. Whether you’re eating them at home, taking them on a trip, or taking them to school, their small size and the fact that they’re non-perishable makes them nice and convenient. When I saw that Trader Joe’s, which is a distant cousin to Aldi, had granola bars that have some extra fiber, they looked like they’d be interesting to try at home and to write about.
Trader Joe’s Rolled Oats & Chocolate Chips Fiberful Granola Bars cost $2.99 for a 6.17-ounce box that contains five bars. That’s about 48 cents per ounce. Each individual bar costs about 60 cents, which is cheaper than some other granola bars you might buy elsewhere. These are a product of Canada.
These granola bars have some added sugar (6 grams per serving) but also contain 9 grams of fiber per serving. The first ingredient is oligofructose, which is a type of prebiotic dietary fiber, and it helps to make these granola bars a little healthier. Oligofructose is good for gut health, digestive function, and overall health.
If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain milk, soy, and wheat. They may egg, sesame, peanut, almond, cashew, coconut, macadamia nut, pecan, and walnut.
These have 140 calories per serving, along with 3.5 grams of total fat (4% daily value), 2 grams of saturated fat (10% daily value), 125 milligrams of sodium (5% daily value), 23 grams of total carbohydrates (8% daily value), 9 grams of dietary fiber (32% daily value), 7 grams of total sugars, 6 grams of added sugars (12% daily value), and 5 grams of protein.
As for my personal opinion on these, I liked them. They’re very sweet and pretty chewy. Being oat bars, these are also very filling.
The Verdict:
All in all, I liked these and would would buy them again. They’re a good snack if you want something that’s a little healthier, due to the fiber content, and also filling. These would be easy and convenient to bring if you need small snacks for something like a road trip or for packing in lunches as well.
