Ambiano Kitchen Scale Headed Back to Aldi
EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated for 2025.
It’s fall, which means cooler temperatures and baking season are upon us. Also, the holidays are around the corner, which mean even more baking and cooking. Starting in October each year, Aldi rotates a limited-time supply of cooking and baking supplies and gadgets through its middle aisle. It’s common to see buffet servers, pastry mats, rolling pins, and meat thermometers at Aldi this time of year.
One item Aldi rolls out most years is a digital kitchen scale. A food scale can help you measure more accurately, especially in fussier recipes such as soufflés or macarons. It can also help you measure portion sizes and correctly determine how many calories you’re eating.
What We Know:
The Ambiano Kitchen Scale cost $7.99 in October of 2025. That’s the same price it cost in 2024, and it’s $1 less than what Aldi sold kitchen scales for in 2020 when we first wrote about this topic.
This is scheduled to be available for a limited time starting October 29, 2025. This is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store should get one shipment. Once it’s gone, you’ll have to wait until next year to get it again. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are sold out at your local store.
This scale is sold under the Ambiano private label. That isn’t a company. Instead, Aldi puts that name on various home goods and kitchen products it sells to give them a uniform look. Those products may be sourced from different suppliers.
Aldi has not shared any details about the kitchen scale in its most recent weekly ad, so we won’t know specifics until it actually shows up in stores. In the meantime, here’s what we knew about the 2024 scale.
- Features an LCD display
- Includes anti-slip feet
- Offers low battery indication
- 13 lb. weight capacity
- Includes 1 CR2032 battery
The 2018 kitchen scale had a three-year warranty serviced by Protel, a German-based after sales service company that provides service for a variety of Aldi products, including bathroom scales and backpacks. We don’t yet know if the current scale comes with a warranty.
What We Don’t Know:
We write open thread posts about products we have not yet tried, so we don’t know how well the digital kitchen scale works. We also don’t know who manufactures it.

I got mine on Thursday 🙂 It comes with a 3 year warranty and it’s pretty big, about as tall as a standard dinner plate and as wide as a notebook (not school-sized, but the kind you use in the office)
Thanks for the info!
mine did not last long at all, broke after a month but worked somewhat, then quit working at all.
Depletes the CR2032 battery because the “äutomatic”scale is ALWAYS on, due to no power switch. Just add weight to suck more juice, for the LCD to activate.
Dumbest design ever. With minimal use, battery guaranteed to show “Lo” in a year (and at “Lo,” the scale refuses to work).
Don’t waste your money.
Aldi is selling rectangular kitchen scales again the week of October 30th, 2024, while supplies last. They’re $7.99.
I bought this kitchen scale at Aldi‘s and the directions on how to use it so small. I cannot read them. Can you send me or show me where I can find the directions on how to use this AMBIANO kitchen scale.
Thank you, Diane
Tiny instructions are, unfortunately, a common problem we’ve seen lately in user manuals for several different Aldi products. I’d recommend contacting Aldi to give them feedback and see if they can help. Here’s info on how to contact Aldi: https://www.aldireviewer.com/contact-aldi/
Diane: I do not have one of these so do not know how small the print is. But, for many small print instructions a magnifying glass is enough to make them readable. Another thing I have done at times is the use a scanner to get them into a word processing program on my computer and up the point size before doing a print out.
Goo Luck! I am looking for more reviews of this year’s model before deciding if I want to try to find one.
How do I remove battery for changing?
I just got one and with three different 2032 batteries, it won’t even turn on.
I bought this scale in October ‘25 when it was in store.
I had a little trouble opening up the battery compartment the first time.
And I agree the print is small on the instruction sheet, but everything seems small to me. I just take off my glasses.
Didn’t understand the “Tare” function at first, but once I reread the instructions it makes sense now. I bought the over the door drying rack ages ago and had to spend some time with the instructions at assembly.
It works great. I’m really happy to be able to weigh my lunches as they are routinely leftovers and it’s super helpful with dinner.
It’s helped with being able to track calories because I can get a more accurate count now.
