Barissimo Iced Coffee
While I am more of a tea drinker, I do like flavored iced coffee drinks when I visit certain coffee shops. I don’t tend to go to coffee shops often, though, since the cost can quickly add up.
Recently, when I was craving a good coffee shop drink, I remembered Aldi sells iced ready-made unsweetened iced coffee in multi-serving jugs. I found it in blonde roast and medium roast, and I picked up one of each — along with some creamer and cold foam — to try at home. (I later spotted a dark roast version at Aldi as well, but I haven’t yet tried that one.)
Barissimo Iced Coffee is a Regular Buy. That means you should be able to find it at Aldi any time of year. It’s stocked in the refrigerator case among the coffee creamers, juice, milk, and other beverages. These are perishable and should be kept refrigerated. The containers also say to use with seven days of opening. (If you don’t use it all in seven days, you could freeze it in single servings.)
We buy Aldi products with our own funds to review. These iced coffees are regularly priced at $4.99 for a 48-ounce container at my local Aldi, which comes out to about 10 cents per ounce. I bought the blonde roast on sale for $3.99, though, at around 8 cents per ounce.
Barissimo is not a company. Rather, this is the name Aldi puts on various coffee products it sells, which it sources from different suppliers.
The ingredients lists for both the blonde roast and medium roast are: reverse osmosis water, 100% arabica coffee.

The labels describe the blonde roast as “mellow & smooth” and the medium roast as “balanced & mild.” These were both brewed for 18 hours low and slow, and they were cold filtered. They have no added sugar and no artificial flavors. In addition, the bottles are BPA free.
The medium roast bottle states one serving has 215 mg of caffeine. The blonde roast bottle didn’t say how much caffeine it has.
One container has four 12-ounce servings. One serving has 15 calories.
The blonde roast has 0.5 grams of total fat (1% DV), 7.5 mg of sodium (0% DV), 1.5 grams of total carbohydrates (1% DV), and 1 gram of protein.
The medium roast has no fat or sodium, 3 grams of total carbohydrates (1% DV), and less than 1 gram of protein.

These taste as expected. They’re black, unsweetened coffees. You can enjoy them as they are, or you can customize your level of sweetness by adding sugar, sweetened creamer, syrups, or whatever you prefer. These make a nice base for creating any drink you want.
Sorry, coffee purists, but I prefer my coffee to be sweetened and have plenty of creamer. I added Barissimo Caramel Macchiato Coffee Creamer to my iced coffee, and I topped it with Barissimo Cold Foam. It was as good as iced coffees I’ve gotten from some shops, and for a fraction of the price.

The Verdict:
Barissimo Iced Coffee comes in blonde, medium, and dark roasts. It’s sold in jugs large enough to get several servings. It’s unsweetened, so it’s good if you’re watching your sugar intake or if you simply want to customize your drink. We enjoyed this with creamer and cold foam, all purchased from Aldi.
