Trader Joe’s Lemongrass Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner

Whenever I drop into Trader Joe’s, which is a cousin to Aldi, I always have to take a look at the aisle that contains personal care products. My family has a few favorites, including the Formula No. 3 Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash and the Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion with SPF 15. We’re also fans of TJ’s Daily Facial Sunscreen.

When it comes to shampoo and conditioner in particular, I’ve used Trader Joe’s tea tree oil versions, which are fine. However, I really miss the Nourish shampoo and conditioner TJ’s used to sell.

During my most recent shopping trip, I spotted some lemongrass shampoo and conditioner and decided to take a flyer on them.

We buy products for review with our own money. I paid $4.99 per 15.2-ounce bottle for Trader Joe’s Lemongrass Moisturizing Shampoo and Lemongrass Moisturizing Conditioner in 2025. That comes out to about 33 cents per ounce.

Here’s more info, according to the bottles:

  • Shampoo features argan oil and vitamin E
  • Conditioner features shea butter and argan oil
  • No phthalates, parabens, or silicone
  • Safe for color-treated hair
  • Not tested on animals
  • Products of New Zealand

To use, apply shampoo to wet hair and massage into the scalp and through to the ends. Rinse and repeat as necessary. Apply conditioner after washing hair with the shampoo. Massage in a desired amount, work through the hair, and rinse well.

These both have a fresh lemongrass scent that definitely comes through. The shampoo works as well as any other shampoo, and the conditioner leaves my hair feeling smooth, soft, and moisturized. Overall, this shampoo and conditioner seems like a good pair.

The Verdict:

Trader Joe’s Lemongrass Moisturizing Shampoo and Lemongrass Moisturizing Conditioner have a fresh scent and do a good job at cleaning and moisturizing your hair. If the TJ’s classic tea tree tingle shampoo and conditioner are a bit too intense for your preferences, this lemongrass duo is a nice milder alternative.
