Merry Moments Holiday Sculpted Reindeer

It is no secret that Aldi likes to imitate expensive name brands. Whether it’s name-brand cereal or designer home décor, the German grocer is no stranger to selling affordable knockoffs of popular pricey trends. Aldi especially likes to imitate products you might find at high-end retailers such as Pottery Barn, Wayfair, or HearthSong.

For the last few years, Aldi has stocked some reindeer sculptures for the Christmas / winter season that look identical to products that Pottery Barn carries.

The Aldi reindeer are sold under the Merry Moments brand, which is not a separate company but rather is the private label Aldi uses for Christmas decorations. Other products we’ve spotted at Aldi in the Merry Moments lineup include a holiday village collection (which includes a charming miniature Aldi market), ceramic gingerbread houses, ceramic Christmas trees, various decorative gnomes, and more.

Merry Moments Sculpted Reindeer cost $29.99 when I bought them in 2022, and they’re the same price in 2025. You have the option to purchase one large reindeer or a 2-pack that contains one small reindeer and one medium reindeer, and the reindeer come in either a bronze/black or gold finish. I purchased a two-pack of the small and medium reindeer in a bronze finish.

Those are a lot cheaper than what you’ll pay for the same kind of sculpted reindeer at Pottery Barn. The Aldi reindeer have the similar dimensions to the Pottery Barn ones. As of 2025, a large 28″ tall Pottery Barn reindeer will set you back $79.50, while a medium 18.75″ Pottery Barn reindeer costs $39.50, and a small 8″ Pottery Barn reindeer costs $19.50. We’re talking about a savings of more than 50% off the large reindeer, and a savings of 50% if you buy the Aldi two-pack of medium and small reindeer. That’s a pretty deep discount, which makes the Aldi reindeer an obvious choice if you’re looking for decorations like these.

You might find similar reindeer on Amazon, but the selection is limited, and you’re still probably going to pay a lot more than the Aldi prices.

These reindeer are Aldi Finds, so they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after it sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back next year. Aldi doesn’t offer online ordering for items not in stock at your area store.

The small reindeer I purchased measures about 7.5 inches, while the medium reindeer measures about 17.5 inches. The box I have says they’re 8 inches and 18.75 inches, but that seems a stretch.

Sizes have varied a bit over the years. I’ve seen small reindeer between 8 and 10.25 inches, medium reindeer around 16 to 18.75 inches, and large reindeer between 25 and 28 inches.

The reindeer are for indoor use only, and they’re ideal for creating a winter display on a mantel or tabletop.

As mentioned above, I bought a two-pack of the small and medium reindeer. I put them on a medium-sized bookshelf in my dining room, where they add a nice touch of holiday whimsy. I liked the poses for some of the larger reindeer, but I wasn’t sure I had a good space in my house for the big reindeer.

These reindeer are solid and fairly heavy. They also have an artsy appearance that fits in well with both traditional and contemporary décor. They seem like good decorations for the entire winter and not just the Christmas season.

The Verdict:

Merry Moments Sculpted Reindeer come in small, medium, and large sizes. They’re available in bronze or gold finishes. These look practically identical to reindeer that Pottery Barn sells for a lot more money. The Aldi reindeer look and feel substantial and solid, being made with some type of metal with quite a bit of weight to them. You can’t go wrong picking up some of these for your holiday décor.

UPDATE (10/29/2025) — I’ve owned a pair of these reindeer for three years now, and they’re holding up well. I often get complements on them from guests.
