Pottery Barn can be an interesting store to wander around in. This purveyor of upscale home furnishings and décor offers a wide variety of unique items, including large goods such as sofas, beds, and dining tables as well as smaller novelties such as rugs, bedding, lighting, bath towels, curtains, art, and storage options. However, Pottery Barn can be expensive.

If you like Pottery Barn style but don’t have the budget for it, Aldi sometimes sells Pottery Barn dupes for a fraction of the price. A couple of years ago, we purchased an animal storage basket with lid that looked just like some baskets Pottery Barn sold. This year, Aldi is selling another Pottery Barn imitation in the form of new animal baskets. These new baskets are smaller, don’t include lids, and are perfect for holding small items. Pottery Barn advertises their basket as a diaper caddy, but in reality it can hold a variety of things such as pens or notebooks or other school/office supplies. At first glance, we can’t tell the difference between the Aldi version and the Pottery Barn version.

What We Know:

Huntington Home Animal Basket

The Huntington Home Animal Basket (Product Code: 707501) cost $24.99 at the time of publication. That’s less than half the cost of the Pottery Barn version, which cost $59 at the time of writing.

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back at some point. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

Here’s more information about the baskets, according to Aldi:

  • Made from water hyacinth
  • Great for organization or storage
  • Choose a Hedgehog, Llama, or Elephant
  • Dimensions: 15.75″ L x 11″ W x 7.5″ H

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t bought this basket yet, so we don’t know how well it works or how sturdy it is. We write open threads so readers can share about their experiences with Aldi products.
