Merriam-Webster defines a trend as a “current style or preference.” The rise of advertising going back to the late 1800s has done a lot to push trends. Throughout the 20th century, whenever a new Sears catalog arrived in the mail, there was a good chance that something among those pages was going to become the thing to have. In the post-Sears catalog Internet era, fads and trends are still alive and well.

Trends tend to sneak up on you. One day, they’re there. That’s their nature, because once everyone is doing it, it’s only a matter of time before it’s no longer in style. The trick is to capitalize on a trend during its upswing.

Aldi, more than once, has managed to capture the wind of emerging trends in its middle aisle. It’s most notable where furniture is concerned: the grocer has made a hit out of everything from indoor teal accent cabinets to outdoor conversation sets. It’s no exaggeration to say that, if Aldi is selling a piece of furniture, it’s something that is trending.

It’s also no exaggeration to say that Aldi can take an emerging trend and give it a big push in the public consciousness. More than once, Aldi has stocked a furniture style we didn’t even know existed.

What We Know:

Belavi Nesting Side Tables

The Belavi Nesting Side Tables (Product Code: 814558) are an Aldi Find. Each store gets a single shipment of them, and once they’re sold out, you won’t be able to get them again until they come back, if they come back at all. What’s more, Aldi doesn’t ship its products online. If you can’t find it in stores, you’re out of luck.

At the time of this post, the nesting tables cost $69.99. That is one of the lower-priced options out there, especially if you compare it to other glass table models.

Although the product name doesn’t explicitly say it, this is technically a set, with a larger table and a smaller table.

Here’s more information about the tables, according to Aldi:

  • Includes large and small table
  • Large Table: 18.9″ x 18.9″ x 17.13″
  • Small Table: 16.54″ x 16.54″ x 15.16″
  • Features a powder-coated steel frame
  • Marble effect glass tabletop
  • Easy assembly
  • Comes with a three-year warranty

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried out these tables, so we don’t know how easy they are to put together, how sturdy they are, or how long they last. That’s why we’ve created this open thread for users to share their experiences.
