In my sunroom I have a patio furniture set — purchased from Target years ago — consisting of a rattan-style loveseat, coffee table, and two armchairs. While the coffee table provides a good spot for people sitting on the loveseat to set down a drink, a book, and other small items, the armchairs are positioned farther from the coffee table. Sometimes I put basic plastic stacking tables next to the armchairs.
But every spring for the past few years, Aldi has sold something more sophisticated: a rattan storage accent table that nearly perfectly matches my existing furniture set. This year, I bought a table to try.
The Belavi Rattan Storage Accent Table (product code 91741) cost $34.99 at the time of publication. That’s a good deal less than most other rattan side tables.
Aldi used to sell this table each year under its Gardenline private label, which encompasses many gardening supplies and patio accessories, but this year the table is branded under the new Belavi Aldi label. The Belavi label focuses on patio furniture and accessories and some garden items.
Here are a few specifications for the table:
- Made of weather-resistant wicker
- For indoor or outdoor use
- Available in gray or brown (I bought the brown to match my existing brown wicker-style furniture)
- Offers “discreet storage for patio & outdoor items”
- Comes with a removable lid with handles that can be used as a serving tray
- Measures 17.5 inches long by 17.5 inches wide and is 18.1 inches tall
- Made in Vietnam
The table comes with a one-year warranty serviced by Fulfillment Services USA, a company that frequently provides warranty service for Aldi furniture such as the SOHL Furniture Accent Cabinet and SOHL Furniture Writing Desk.
To contact Fulfillment Services USA, call 1-855-248-7826 or email [email protected] fulfillmentservicesusa.com. A red card tucked into the storage table adds that the best time to call the after-sales support hotline is between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, and it recommends leaving your contact name, number, product style number, and best time to contact you.
The Belavi accent table is fairly simple, so I hopefully won’t need to use the warranty service, but in our experience, this warranty company is not the easiest to work with. We dealt with Fulfillment Services USA in 2018 when trying to get help regarding an Aldi writing desk we purchased, and we found Fulfillment Services USA to be unresponsive to our emails, and they often had a full voicemail box. We finally got our issue resolved after contacting Aldi, who in turn contacted Fulfillment Services on our behalf. You can read about our complete experience here.
This table is fairly large, taking up a lot of space in my cart when I was in Aldi. Once I got the table home, I undid the packaging, including cutting through some tight plastic ties holding the lid on. The interior storage compartment is large — big enough to hold two sit-upons and two accent pillows, with room to spare.
The inside and exterior bottom of the table were a little dusty, so I wiped the whole table down with a damp cloth. There’s still a little dust in hard-to-reach crevices, but since this is going in a sunroom it’s not a big deal.
The tabletop/lid is pretty secure when you replace it back on the table. There is no real reinforcement under the woven rattan top, though, so while this calls itself a table, I wouldn’t put anything too heavy on it.
Overall, this is a nice-looking table that adds some much-needed storage space and tabletop space to my sunroom. Because this pops up at Aldi every year, I’ve been thinking about buying one for several years. I’m glad I finally got it.
The Belavi Rattan Storage Accent Table is 17.5 inches square and stands just over 18 inches tall. It has a wicker look that goes well with many patio sets, and it can be used indoors or outdoors. The lid lifts off to be used as a tray, and the table’s interior is hollow for storage. We wouldn’t recommend putting anything too heavy on the tabletop, but generally this is a good-looking table that provides hidden storage, and we like it.
