Fremont Fish Market Wild Caught Parmesan Encrusted Flounder
EDITOR’S NOTE: We reviewed this in the fall of 2025. Aldi advertised it again the week of March 25th, 2026, for a slightly higher price of $6.99 for a 16-ounce package.
In my efforts to serve more fish for family dinners, I picked up some limited-edition frozen boneless breaded flounder fillets at Aldi the other day. They’re wild caught and looked like a good option for an easy, quick meal on a busy weeknight.
Fremont Fish Market Wild Caught Parmesan Encrusted Flounder is an Aldi Find. That means it’s in stores only for a short time. Each store should receive one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.
We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. I paid $6.49 for a 16-ounce package in October of 2025. That comes out to about 41 cents per ounce. There are about eight servings per package, which comes out to around 81 cents per serving.
As of 2026, this is up to $6.99 per 16-ounce package. That’s about 44 cents per ounce and about 87 cents per serving.

The bag lists three ways to cook this: baking, deep frying, or air frying.
To bake, preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until fish flakes when tested with a fork. Let it cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. (For a convection oven, reduce the cooking time by approximately 2 minutes.)
To deep fry, heat oil to 360 degrees. Fry for approximately 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.
To air fry, preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees. Place 3-4 pieces of fish in the air fryer and fry for 8-10 minutes or until the internal temperature of the fish reaches at least 145 degrees. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.

I decided to air fry this. It was done and plenty crispy after 10 minutes. This might be a little heavy on the breading, with a small amount of fish inside, but it tasted good, was well seasoned, and was satisfyingly crunchy. My family is not always very fond of fish, but they deemed this to be good.
The Verdict:
Fremont Fish Market Wild Caught Parmesan Encrusted Flounder cooks quickly and easily, and we like it. It’s crispy, flavorful, and makes a good lunch or dinner, especially if paired with a salad.

I shop at Aldi every week and I prepared the Parmesan encrusted flounder many times for my family. It is absolutely delicious and it is a wild caught which is very important for me. And always with the excellent prize that you can only find at Aldi. Absolutely a great product.
It took really inspecting the photo of the package for the fact that these are frozen rather than refrigerated. With that being the case I could see not doing a whole package at a time (like one for a single person) and putting the package in a Ziplock Freezer bag to use later.
Yes, they are great if you only want to make one or two at a time. We just used a clip to close the original bag back up. (We also mention in the first paragraph that these are frozen.)
