Mama Cozzi’s Artisan-Inspired Smoked Pulled Pork Mac’ N Cheese Flatbread Pizza

The refrigerated take and bake pizza section at Aldi rarely disappoints. It’s loaded with goodies such as extra large sausage and pepperoni pizzas, cheese pizzas, cheesy bread, cauliflower crust pizzas, flatbread pizzas, and more. These pizzas are easy to take home and throw in the oven for a quick and tasty dinner on a busy day. They are consistently among the best pizzas I’ve ever had from Aldi, and some of them rival what you might buy at a pizza restaurant. You can also freeze them to save for later.

Aldi sometimes rotates limited-edition specialty pizzas or flatbreads into this selection. I recently picked up a pepperoni pan pizza that was pretty good.

The lastest limited-time flatbread to show up in the take and bake aisle is one that features pulled pork and macaroni and cheese. My family enjoys both BBQ and pasta, so this seemed like an ideal mashup of some of our favorite things. I picked up one of the flatbreads to try at home.

Mama Cozzi's Artisan Inspired Flatbread Pizza with Pulled Pork and Mac and Cheese

Mama Cozzi’s Artisan-Inspired Smoked Pulled Pork Mac ‘N Cheese Flatbread Pizza is an Aldi Find at the time of publication. That means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products not currently in stock at your local store. When this is in stock, you’ll find it in the refrigerated aisle near the other take and bake pizzas and flatbread pizzas.

Mama Cozzi’s Artisan-Inspired Smoked Pulled Pork Flatbread Pizza cost $5.99 at the time of publication.

The package describes this as “mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, smoked pulled pork, and macaroni with smoky cheddar and BBQ sauce on a flatbread crust.”

If you’re looking out for allergens, this contains milk and wheat.

It has a lengthy ingredients list that includes some processed items such as corn syrup and natural flavor, and it has some preservatives. Also, the barbecue sauce contains high fructose corn syrup. I don’t buy pizzas to be healthy, but it might be nice if this was sweetened with something other than high fructose corn syrup.

One flatbread pizza serves three people, and this does contain its share of calories, fat, sodium, and carbs, but it’s a pizza, so that’s no surprise.

One serving has 400 calories, 17 grams of total fat (22% DV), 9 grams of saturated fat (45% DV), 50 mg of cholesterol (17% DV), 800 mg of sodium (35% DV), 41 grams of total carbohydrates (15% DV), 1 gram of dietary fiber (4% DV), 6 grams of total sugars, 5 grams of added sugars (10% DV), and 19 grams of protein.

The box has directions for baking this (from thawed) in a conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Remove the flatbread from packaging, and remember to remove the cardboard from under the flatbread. Place the thawed flatbread on the center rack of the oven. (I baked it on a baking sheet.) Do not bake the flatbread on the cardboard tray that comes in the box. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the cheese in the center is melted and the crust is golden. Carefully remove from the oven. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing and serving.

After baking.

My flatbread pizza was done in the oven after 12 minutes. I sliced this up and got four 2-piece servings out of it, and I served it alongside a salad and some brisket mac and cheese, all from Aldi.

My family approved of this flatbread pizza. They liked the barbecue sauce and the cheese. It had just the right amount of pulled pork, and it had enough elbow macaroni noodles to make it interesting. It’s more of a barbecue pizza than a mac and cheese pizza, but we still liked it. The flatbread crust also was perfectly chewy. Even some family members who typically prefer cheese pizza thought this was good. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this one again.

The Verdict:

Mama Cozzi’s Artisan-Inspired Smoked Pulled Pork Mac ‘N Cheese Flatbread Pizza features mozzarella and cheddar cheese, smoked pulled pork, and elbow macaroni noodles with barbecue sauce on a flatbread crust. We like barbecue and we like pasta, and this pizza does both well.

  1. This wasn’t a favorite of mines. I’ll take the specially selected spicy pepperoni flatbread instead. Now that’s something to write about. I wish it wasn’t a seasonal item.
