Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Queso Pizza
Last spring, Aldi sold a stuffed crust nacho cheese and chicken pizza. I was intrigued and bought one to try at home. The pizza was all right, but it was lacking in nacho cheese flavor and didn’t taste as advertised.
This fall, Aldi is selling another take on a Mexican-inspired pizza. This time, it’s a queso pizza. This thin crust pizza is topped with queso sauce, which is then topped with seasoned beef crumbles, tomato, onion, jalapeno, and mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
I’m always open to trying new Aldi products, so I bought the queso pizza, baked it, and served it up to my family the other night.
Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Queso Pizza is an Aldi Find. That means it’s in stores for just a limited time. Each store gets a single shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is sold out at your local store. When this is in stock, you’ll find it in the Aldi Find freezer case.
I bought this for review and paid $4.99 for a 14.7-ounce package. That comes out to about 34 cents per ounce.

This has some fat, saturated fat, sodium, and carbs. It also has a long ingredients list with some processed items.

The box has directions for baking this in a conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Remove pizza from all packaging and place directly on the oven’s middle rack. (I placed my pizza on a special pizza pan.) Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese in the center is melted and the edges are golden brown.
Our first impression of this pizza was that it’s spicy. It’s firmly in the medium spicy category. The diced jalapenos certainly give it spice, but even some of our bites that didn’t have jalapeno could still be pretty hot, so picking off the peppers doesn’t really make it milder if that’s what you’re hoping for. The spice level could vary with each bite, even without the peppers.
With that said, this is a good thin crust pizza. It has plenty of flavorful queso sauce under a layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese. We also like the beef, tomato, and onion toppings. We just had to keep plenty of water — or milk, for the family members who drink milk — on hand to counteract the spiciness.
The Verdict:
Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Queso Pizza features a thin crust topped with queso sauce, which is then topped with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, seasoned beef crumbles, tomato, onion, and jalapenos. This is a spicy pizza. It has plenty of sauce, cheese, and toppings. If you want pizza with a kick to it, this might be for you.
