Open Thread: Belavi Pergola (Gardenline Pergola)
EDITOR’S NOTES:
- Updated for 2023.
- Prior to 2021, this was known as the Gardenline Pergola. As of 2021, it is now called the Belavi Pergola, based on a new Aldi brand. Other than the name change, the Belavi pergolas appear to be otherwise about the same as the Gardenline, including identical dimensions. We’ve updated this post to reflect the name change.
This post is an open thread and contains affiliate links.
Aldi is a great place to get outdoor products, whether you’re looking for gardening supplies, camping gear, or patio furniture and decor. When it comes to patio furniture, Aldi has sold everything from folding chairs to tables to outdoor love seat sets to fire pits.
One item the discount grocer has offered for the past few years is the Gardenline Pergola, known from 2021 on as the Belavi Pergola. If you’re spending more time on your patio or deck and you’d like a little more shade and shelter, well, Aldi has you covered.
What We Know:
The Belavi Pergola (Product Code: 822993) sold for $249.99 in April of 2023. The Belavi Pergola (Product Code: 49964) sold for $289.99 in June of 2022. Aldi has previously sold this same pergola for $189.99 in 2021, for $169.99 in both 2020 and 2019, and for $149.99 in 2018. As you can see, the price has increased over the years, including a jump of $100 between 2021 and 2022, and then the price decreased by $40 in 2023. Price drops on Aldi Finds is a trend we’ve been seeing in 2023. Even though the price is higher than when we saw Aldi first sell this pergola in 2018, it still costs a lot less than other pergolas we see online.
This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone until next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not in stock at your local store.
The 2023 pergola’s dimensions are 11.5′ x 9′ x 7.4′. Previous versions of the pergola measured 11.5′ x 9′ x 7.5′, so the latest model is one inch shorter.
Features for the 2023 pergola include:
- Measures 11.5′ x 9′ x 7.4′
- Includes UV- and water-resistant canopy top
- Durable, powder-coated steel frame
- Easily adjustable canopy with lock
- Comes with one-year warranty
The 2020 pergola came with just a one-year warranty, but the 2019 pergola came with a two-year warranty. Since at least 2016, the warranty service has been provided by TDC USA, Inc., which is based in Hong Kong with a U.S. office in New Jersey. They provide warranty service for several of Aldi’s products, including an offset outdoor umbrella, gazebo, double glider, grill gazebo, popup gazebo, and umbrella side table.
What We Don’t Know:
We have not used the Belavi (Gardenline) Pergola, so we don’t know how well it works or how it holds up with outdoor use over time. That’s why we’ve created this open thread to let users share their experiences.
Do you have experience with Aldi’s Belavi / Gardenline Pergola? Share your thoughts in the comments.
I do have an ALDI pergola 49964 , I just need the replacement canopy. Where I can get it and how much. Thanks
I need the same thing. I am disappointed that Gardenline does not have a replacement canopy for the Pergola.
Amazon has one online as well as Wayfair. The prices vary from about $62 to $85 depending on the design of the fabric. These ones have grommet drains to keep the water from puddling. I have not bought one but was looking in case I need to replace the ones I have.
hey miguel, is there a way to attach the pergola to ground rock or concrete? is the canopy movable? is it aluminum? how does it handle rain, wind & humidity?
This canopy/pergola is terrific. Mine did come with stakes to affix in the yard, but I just kept it on the deck. I think I bought it in ‘19 or ‘20. Put it up in 2020. Just had to mend the cover last year.
It is lightweight, pretty sure it’s aluminum. Did fine in wind, rain & humidity but you must pull the cover back, orherwise it fills w/ water & gets messy.

sells all replacement parts for Aldi purchased products
Really? Thank you!
I have two replacement covers listed on eBay right now. One is new in the package for $40 plus shipping. The other is gently used and is $30 plus shipping. We purchased a pergola from Aldi last year and another on this year and don’t need the covers. Hope this helps someone!
They are no longer available. If you don’t mind the cover being in a fixed position, this cover from Amazon works well and water doesn’t pond on top:
Shatex Shade Fabric for Pergola/Patio/Garden Shade Panel with Grommets 6x16ft Wheat
What? The pergolas are no longer available? I was loving the option of buying the replacement canopy and netting every year! Used to be $30/ea to replace. Now the canopy is $69 itself! Such a shame. Ours is still standing over 6 years later.
I am sure that the pergolas will still be available seasonally. My comment about not being available was referring to replacement covers that I was selling. Those have been sold and are no longer available.
While it is not exactly the same, I found that the rectangular sun shade I picked up from Aldi (Rectangle Dimensions: 9.8′ x 6.5′) was a perfect fit for the top of this canopy (if you just want the top covered). I slid the loops over the two bars on the long ends (of the fabric and the pergola) inching them together as it is a perfect fit. For the other end and side loops I used zip ties. You may be able to find a sun shade of similar dimensions that would work just as well.
I also plan to sew a few optional canopies since the original is essentially a rectangle with a few inches on the end looped to slide the bar through. Not sure if I’d bother cutting the center hole, but that would be relatively simple. If you can sew a straight line, this may be another option. Just remember to spray the fabric with UV and water protection (depending on what you buy). Leaning towards utilizing an old canvas boat cover that shrunk for ours.
Hopefully that helps! My next challenge is to make a bug net for the entire thing… should be amusing!
Hi Diana, did you find an easy way to remove the.canvas cover to replace on this pergola? Any info would be welcome!
Amazon has it for about 45$.
Amazon has them.
I think this would apply to the Pergola just as well as the gazebo. There should have been a booklet in the packaging and it has the Gardenline’s contact phone number. I have actually called them in the past for a replacement canopy for my gazebo, and they sent it to me. I actually have the number I called so I’ll provide it in hopes its still good. If perhaps its not the right department they should be able to transfer you. 1 (800) 599-8898
I hope this helps you. And good luck in your search for the Replacement canopy.
I just saw it on Amazon. I think it was 65.00
Amazon about 65

Is this mountable to concrete pad??Do the legs have a mount on the bottom
I hope I can figure out a way to secure it to my concrete patio. The last pergola canopy we had blew over in a storm. I haven’t opened the boxes yet, however, so I’m not exactly sure if there will be a way for me to mount it.
A frient put one up. They put a flower pot at the base of each leg, put a bit of concrete at the bottom, then rocks, then dirt and put flowers in it. Cute.
We had good luck with this as well
Use a special drill made for concrete and the proper anchoring screws/ bolts. Good luck!
Yes.
Yes, i had my pegola mounted to my concrete pavers. You have to purchase concrete screws.
Not for sure what you mean by mountable. But they can be secured into the ground.
Yes. We mounted it to concrete pavers because we get some strong winds. Has worked wonderfully!
Shelley, can you give me the dimension from outside leg to leg?
I have room on the top, but I need it to fit between 2 4 ft. walls.
The instructions say not to put it on a patio. Why?
Jean, I have mine over my patio. But You do need to have a way to secure it into the ground. I have one side secured into the ground and the other side I have secured with big rocks. Because if a BIG WIND comes up, it will totally destroy your Pergola if it is not secured to the ground somehow. We had a tornado like wind come through when I first purchased ours and it totally picked it up and threw it into the yard. I was very thankful that it was able to be untwisted and put back up. But made me realize the importance of securing it into the ground some way. AND taking the canopy down in high winds. I hope this helps~ 🙂
The canopy is like a parachute in the wind and the so called weighted rods do nothing but slide up and down even when locked. I’ve come home to my canopy hanging off the side. Does anyone else have this problem and/or a solution?
I did secure mine to the concrete with concrete screws. It’s otherwise a nice pergola but I wish I would have spent more and gotten one with a way better canopy.
Yes, this has a plate with holes for mounting. It is also recommended to add weight inside the poles at least 4 feet up. We went the cheap way and added rolled bags of sand, but anything that adds weight at the bottom and supports the structure will protect it in addition to anchoring. (And if that is too complicated for some, you can always place the legs into tall planters and fill the bottom with small stones or sand then add dirt and plants in the top portion. 😉
Just brought the Aldi Pergola 49964 does this comes in two boxes and are charged for each box?
I just got this pergola two days ago. The whole things comes in two boxes – a long one and a short one – and the two together should cost $169.99 and NOT $169.99 for each.
Can you tell me the actual dimensions of the distance of the feet? I assume the dimensions on the product description are the top of the pergola, length and width. I am trying to find out if it would fit on my existing deck space.
Yes, this would be super helpful information. I need to distance from outside leg to outside leg, length and width.
It only cost 169.99 for the 2 boxes together. Not 169.99 for each box. The 2 boxes are a set.
Hello,
Is the pergola available in every state? I don’t normally shop there and I don’t see a search function on their website to search for that product number. TIA
Aldi, unfortunately, doesn’t have a product search function. I assume it’s available in every state — you can go to Aldi’s site, enter your zip code, and double-check your weekly ad.
I did check the weekly ad but it’s not featured. I’m going to go ask tomorrow, but I highly doubt they employees will know anything. Thanks anyway!
Because the pergola was in stores several weeks ago at this point, you won’t see it in any ads now, since Aldi removes older ads from its site.
Thank you!
Aldi has some great outdoor items. I don’t regularly shop there either but I do look out for what’s available each week. Can’t beat the prices compared to home improvement stores that sell the same products.
I was recently there and the manager told me when another item I want is coming in. I will be there. If you don’t get there early, it will be GONE! We have 3 Aldi’s in my area and two of the stores sell out quickly!
Would like to purchase a pergola but our local store only received one needless to say it sold…anyway to order one? Sent email before but did not really get an answer.
Aldi doesn’t sell online in the U.S.
You only have one local store? I had to go to two and found one. You may find it in another location.
We have 3 Aldi’s in our area and when I went to find the pergola they were sold out. They only received 4 each. Low and behold, I was in another Aldi’s in our area that I didn’t know existed, looking for another item and spotted the pergola!! I purchased it. I plan to get the pergola for the grill too when it arrives. I know which one to go to now where I have a better chance of it being on the shelf.
Does anyone know if the Aldi’s pergola is the same as the Allen and Roth version that Lowe’s carries?
I have had mine for about 3 years and it has held up very well. I had to replace the canopy as it collects rain between the slates and became worn out. I found a replacement on Amazon but it’s not a perfect fit.
Has anyone had an issue with the canopy weight bars breaking away from the latch?
Anna- mine did this! Not sure how to make this better
I have
I have and am trying to get help with that issue but haven’t been successful so far. One set of the bars are about 2 to three inches too short to securely attach or stay attached. This forced me to have to remove my canopy.
TraceyA., if you move the end poles closer together this should resolve this issue. You have the end poles pulled too far apart. Push them closer together and it will stay latched just fine. I hope this helps.
Yes! And my screw unwind in their own. No matter how tight I tighten them
In 3 years it hasn’t rusted? Did you treat it with something?
The one in this week’s (May 27-June 2) ad (Gardenline 32720-20) for $79.00 is different. The instructions say it is not waterproof and not to use in wind and rain as rain can pool and damage the canopy. This seems useless to me. Has anyone had any experience with this model?
I have it. It was great for the first few months, but wore out really fast. It dry rotted and shredded apart after a year. It indeed did pool evertime it rained, and the heavy pouches of water caused the fabric to rub on the exposed screw ends, tearing it. The water also did a slow drip thru the fabric so everything stayed wet for days unless you manually pushed the canopy up to drain the water off, which would also cause it to tear. I guess the intention is to leave the canopy off year round, and only set it up for special occasions of use, then take it back down. Its not built for daily enjoyment on a regular basis. The slighteat wind made a paracute and lifted the canpoy. The locks on the poles dont work, the breeze is enough to make them drag & slide.
I’m finding the same issue with the canopy parachuting! The locks don’t work well. Mine has only been up for a week and already experiencing this issue. Does anyone have a way to fix that? The wind even carried out one of the rods in the Canopy!
Hi, we have had our pergola for three years. What we do is to fold the excess material around the ends, then zip the end of the material to one of the top cross bars. We pull it tight enough to avoid parachuting. We use a broom every time it rains to get the puddles off.
I bought galvanized steel rods from Lowe’s. Works well 3/4 inch I believe and they are about the same length. Slides right in with the weighted rods. Has worked well for me.
Recently purchased Gardenline Pergola from Aldi… I am missing parts that weren’t included in the box. I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone in customer service via telephone and email. When I call I get voicemail. No return call and no response to emails. Any other way I can get these missing parts or get in contact with an actual person?
Thanks.
Try emailing Aldi. We’ve found them to be very responsive when we email them. https://www.aldi.us/en/about-aldi/contact-us/
What are the specifications for this product – Gardenline Pergola?
Does anyone use weights to anchor their pergola down?
I have one and I love it. Perfect for my backyard area.
It was sold to me without the canopy two years ago, but it’s on the list of items in the manual. I still haven’t put it together.
How do you attach it to a wood deck. I had a easy up tent before and the storm blew it away.
Each of the legs has holes at the base. We used wood screws and secured them to the wood deck that way. That being said, we take the cover off when high winds are predicted.
Yes, that’s what I plan to do this time. I will move the cover. My last pergola from Menards parachuted off a deck 10 ft off the ground and was destroyed! I used to sit out there all the time enjoying the shade on my deck with the pergola. I even added curtains to it too. One of my neighbors said it was beautiful!
How easy is it to remove the canopy? I would probably have to take it off for bad weather, as it gets very windy at my house.
I haven’t taken mine off. In inclement weather I push the canopy over to one side and zip tie it.
So you can slide the canopy over to keep it from blowing in the wind?
Yes just slide it on the poles and up top to one side and scrunch it up to zip tie. Works perfect.
Mine is also two years old and I’m looking for a replacement canopy.
It is faded and is starting to shred.
I have mine on a paver patio and have the poles in a planter filled with sand to hold it down. Works wonderful.
I would love to see the answers to many of these comments, especially specific dimensions . I just purchased this pergola and haven’t taken it out of the boxes as I am concerned with it fitting my deck space!
I got this pergola and it is amazing 👏 cannot beat the price even at $180.
I recently purchased the Aldi pergola.
Needless to say we have had a lot of rain in the last few days and the pergola holds water really well. I have been displacing it with a broom but have some concerns if rain occurs while we are gone.
Any smart, useful ideas would be appreciated. Have brainstormed with installing grommets, using black noodles, etc. but have not made a decision.
Thanks.
If you don’t mind having a cover that stays in a fixed position we installed this one from Amazon and it works great. Creates shade but water can pass through without ponding issues. It comes with ball bungee cords but I would order an extra pack as well.
Shatex Shade Fabric for Pergola/Patio/Garden Shade Panel with Grommets 6x16ft Wheat
We purchased the pergola from Aldi. We got all the way to almost the end and discovered they has left out 2 poles that allow you to raise and lower the shade. I have called and called and left messages. No one has returned my calls. Any help on how to get replacement pieces would be greatly appreciated.
Is it the warranty provider that is not returning your calls? Try emailing or calling Aldi directly. Aldi has always been responsive when we’ve reached out to them for help, and they can contact the warranty provider on your behalf to get things moving. https://www.aldi.us/en/about-aldi/contact-us/
I recently purchased this product from Aldi but have not put it together yet. I had one from Menards that cost $350. Today they’re $500-600+ at some stores. I was so pleased with the one from Menards but a storm came and it parachuted off of my deck and my deck is 10 ft off the ground!! This time I plan to keep the cover open on one side during a storm so it can’t parachute. I will also try to secure it to the deck floor this time as well.
The pergola from Menards says it cannot be up year round. However, I saw several neighbors with theirs up year round. I kept mine up year round too. Who wants to assemble and disassemble a pergola each year? I’m hoping my boxes are not missing any pieces either like some of the comments.
The size of the frame is: 10 x 7 the Canopy is: 16 x 6.6. There are two screwed in canopy’s sliding poles on each side with locks, I recommend only using the screwed in poles on one side and use a rope or a bungy cords on the other side and place the two extra poles into the Canopy’s sleeve for added weight, reason?…. Much easier to remove the canopy and place it on the deck, patio floor and or ground on high windy days.
I was wondering
how to easily remove the canopy in windy conditions. The weight bars don’t expand enough because they are attached to the slide bars. For removal of canopy I would have to slide bars off too? They should of made it so it zips off. I might try your method, aside from the main beam where do I attach rope?
I slide it over to one side and scrunch it up and zip tie it to the poles. Works great. I also have some plumbing pipes that are heavy from lowes that I slid in with the original polesto weigh it down.
I’m trying to picture that. How or what I connect the rope or cord to on the other side?
Amazon has it for about 45$.
We bought her pergola And the company shorted us the four poles that the canopy slides up and down on. We called the company That was on a paper in the Box And they had us fill out a form and a copy of a receipt. It’s been 3 weeks and I haven’t heard anything from them. I am trying to get my four poles that were missing from the box.
I had a similar issue. The poles were there but one pole was too short and didn’t connect securely to the frame. I called and emailed and sent the pictures they kept requesting and finally stopped hearing from them at all. No emails or phone calls were returned anymore. I haven’t been able to use my canopy.
How do I easily get the canopy off the pergola in high winds? Seems like I have too take the slide bars off too, because the weight bar doesn’t expand much being attached to slide bars.
Just slide the canopy over to one side and scrunch it up and zip tie it to the frame.
That sounds like a good idea, instead of taking it off and putting it back on over and over…I’ll try it. Thanks
I have both the 2019 and 2020 version of Aldi pergola. I put them both up on my deck in 2020. I used them that summer as they were intended but didn’t like how rainwater would pool on the top. I purchased metal roof material from the orange hardware store in spring of 2021 and tied both pergolas together with the roof. I split the original fabric top in half and use it on the sides to block the sun as needed. They have held up well with snow loads in the winter months.
Would love to see pics!
We scrunch ours over to one side when not in use. We use a small rope to wrap around the canvas from one end to the other. We use two dog lease hooks , one on each end of rope to hook rope around pergola.
Hello, I purchased the Pergola a few weeks ago and I am having trouble getting it together. The two sides will not go into the end pieces. The medal is too close together on four sides. Anyone else have this issue and have suggestions on how to fix it…
The directions are tricky, but after a couple trys I got it right. Screw the short sidebars first, then attach longer crossbars, need people to help hold and balance it until you have all four sides on.
I bought the 2023 Pergola and have had it up for about two weeks. The lock on the tension bar that holds the canopy has already become loose/does not function. The pergola almost tipped over today because of the sudden slack in the rod holding the canopy taut. The pergola is staked down on two sides in my grass, still almost tipped over. So disappointed.
There’s one left for $40 at my local Aldi. Worth it or skip it?
I guess we got a heck of a deal we just bought our pergola at Aldi’s for $129 same thing same size y’all are talking about
Does anyone know if there is a customer service line for?Belavi ?? I received outdoor furniture as a gift. I put it in my garage a year later I decide to open it up and put it together. And I have no screws or bolts anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated
FYI: Belavi is not a company. It’s just the name Aldi puts on a lot of its outdoor furniture and gardening supplies, which are probably sourced from any number of different suppliers.
With that said, if your pergola came with a warranty, there should be contact information for the warranty service provider on the box as well as on a sheet inside the box, and possibly also in the manual. I’d recommend starting there. Good luck! Feel free to come back here and let us know how it goes.
