Open Thread: SOHL Furniture Kitchen Island with Granite Top

Aldi occasionally sells furniture, ranging from teal accent cabinets to writing desks to folding computer desks. Just before Thanksgiving, the discount grocer often sells a small kitchen island to help with all the holiday meal prep, or to serve as a station for cocktails or coffee.

What We Know:

Aldi’s SOHL Furniture Kitchen Island with Granite Top (product code 45866) cost $59.99 in 2019. Aldi sold the island for the same price in 2018, and Aldi sold a slightly smaller version of this island for $49.99 in 2017.

Aldi also sold a different island, the SOHL Furniture Kitchen Island with Hardwood Top, for $49.99 in 2018.

Features for the 2019 SOHL Furniture Kitchen Island with Granite Top include:

  • Measures 22.75″ x 15.75″ x 33.75″
  • Lower shelf for storage
  • Black frame with Granite countertop
  • Four-bottle storage wine rack
  • Utensil drawer with soft close feature
  • Two lockable castors for easy mobility and safety
  • Wire basket for additional storage

We don’t yet have information on whether the 2019 model comes with a warranty, but the 2018 model had a one-year warranty serviced by Linon, which appears to also sell products at Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Kohl’s, and Overstock. That was a departure from Fulfillment Services, which is the company that usually services Aldi’s SOHL Furniture product warranties, and Fulfillment Services is a company we have not had the greatest experience with. We’re hopeful that Linon offers better service.

What We Don’t Know:

We don’t have experience using the SOHL Furniture Kitchen Island with Granite Top, so we don’t know how well it works. We also don’t yet know what kind of warranty this year’s island may come with.

  1. The packaging says the dimensions are 27″ x 17 3/4″ x 33 1/4″. Is that at he base with wheels and the top is actually only 15 3/4 “

  2. How can I purchase this utility table with the granite top since the
Aldi store where I live only carried one of these tables for the holidays?

  3. Does anyone have the instructions to build this? Mine came without them.
