Trader Joe’s Egg Frittata with Swiss Cheese & Cauliflower

I like having eggs for breakfast, or even for dinner. They’re a good source of protein, are low in carbs, and can be prepared and served in a variety of ways. My go-to is scrambled eggs cooked with sauteed peppers and onions, a bit of salsa, and a sprinkle of cheese. I’m also a fan of over-easy eggs atop a bed of hash browns, with everything bagel seasoning sprinkled on top.

Or, I found some frozen, ready-to-heat frittatas at Trader Joe’s, which is a cousin to Aldi.

We buy products for review with our own funds. I paid $3.49 for a 4.94-ounce Trader Joe’s Egg Frittata with Swiss Cheese & Cauliflower in the fall of 2025. That comes out to about 71 cents per ounce. There are two frittatas in the package, and one package is considered one serving.

This is a product of Canada.

The package states:

Eggs are the perfect way to start your day. Our egg frittata with Swiss cheese and cauliflower is ready in minutes to enjoy by itself, on an English muffin or paired with bacon and fruit. So simple and versatile, you will love each savory bite.

The frittatas are wrapped in a plastic package.

The box has directions for heating this from frozen in a conventional oven or in the microwave.

To bake in the oven, preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Remove the frittatas from all packaging and place on a baking sheet. Heat for 15 minutes or until heated through. Allow to rest for 1 minute before serving.

To microwave, remove desired number of frittatas from all packaging and place on a microwave-safe dish. For one frittata, heat on high for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. For two frittatas, heat for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes. Allow to rest for 1 minute before serving.

I heated these in my oven. They baked up in the expected amount of time and smelled delicious. I could definitely taste the Swiss cheese and the onions, with the cauliflower being more muted. Overall, these were really good. I ate them plain, but they’d also be good served on a biscuit or English muffin.

The Verdict:

The Trader Joe’s Egg Frittata is sold frozen and comes with two frittatas that make for one serving. These cook easily in the microwave or conventional oven, making for a quick and convenient breakfast, brunch, lunch, or snack. They’re flavorful, with plenty of Swiss cheese along with onions and cauliflower. We’d buy these again.
