Trader Joe’s, which is a cousin to Aldi, has a nice selection of personal care and beauty products. I always make sure to stroll down the toiletries aisle whenever I go on a TJ’s shopping run, and I’ve found some great products including shampoo and conditioner, 3-in-1 hair and body wash, hair masks, eye cream, and various face washes and moisturizers.
Sometimes I find unexpected things in the TJ’s beauty aisle, including this watermelon facial mist. It looked so novel and unique, I couldn’t resist buying a bottle.
Trader Joe’s Watermelon Facial Mist cost $3.99 for a 3.4-fluid-ounce spray bottle at the time of publication. The bottle claims this can “refresh & hydrate” and it was not tested on animals.
The bottle also says:
My, what-a-melon! Hydration heavy-hitters? Check! A bevy of botanicals? Check! Ingredients derived from the wondrous watermelon itself? Check! This light, melon-y mist will keep you glowing all season long.
Ingredients include water, citrullus lanatus (watermelon) seed oil, oryza sativa (rice) bran oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, citrullus lanatus (watermelon) fruit water, and more.

To use, first give the bottle a good shaking because the formula naturally separates. Then hold the bottle 8-10 inches away from your face, close your eyes and mouth, and spray the mist two to three times across your face. Hold the bottle closer for a dewy effect. Use throughout the day as needed.
You’ll definitely want to shake the bottle before spraying it, as this mixture visibly separates while it’s sitting unused, and you’ll see two different-colored layers in the bottle if you don’t shake it.
This spray smells good, with a mild watermelon scent that isn’t overpowering. It leaves the skin feeling lightly moist and dries without leaving grease or any noticeable residue. I’m not sure how much it hydrates skin, especially because the spray goes on in a fairly small amount. However, this is a nice pick-me-up any time you want a refresher. It’s nice to use at home or also on the go, or even at work or school if you have a spot for it on a desk or in a locker.
The Verdict:
Trader Joe’s Watermelon Facial Mist is one of the more unique products I’ve seen in the beauty and personal care products aisle at Trader Joe’s. It contains real watermelon seed oil and watermelon fruit water. Give the bottle a few shakes and lightly spray the mist on your face for a quick hydration boost. The watermelon scent hits all the right notes without being overpowering. Perfect for fans of facial care products or watermelons.
