Aldi has become one of my favorite places to buy gardening supplies. It’s a great place to purchase small items such as gardening gloves, garden seeds, potting mix or garden soil, solar decorations, or hand tools. Aldi also offers some of the best bang for your buck when you need larger garden items such as walk-in or drop-over greenhouses, raised planters, tall planters, potting benches, and more.

The discount grocery store continues to roll out new gardening supplies well into June this year, and the most recent weekly ad features a few never-before-seen-at-Aldi products. New arrivals include a 3-tier wooden box planter and 3-tier wooden plant shelves.

Here, we’re taking a look at the Belavi 3-Tier Wooden Box Planter.

What We Know:

Belavi 3-Tier Wooden Box Planter

The Belavi 3-Tier Wooden Box Planter (Product Code: 813007 / 813004) cost $49.99 at the time of publication. That’s on the lower end of costs for wooden raised planters on Amazon.

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at local stores. We’ve never seen Aldi sell anything like this planter before, so we don’t know if it will come back around next year or if this is a one-time limited buy at Aldi.

This wooden box planter is a pretty good size. It stands nearly four feet tall, is just over 2 feet wide, and is more than 15 inches deep from front to back.

In terms of garden planters, this is unique and reminds me of some DIY planter box plans I’ve seen online. It’s hard to find similar planters at other traditional retailers. I found a few that look somewhat similar in style on Etsy, and they cost nearly four times what the Aldi planter box costs. I also found planters that look very similar on Wayfair, although the Wayfair model costs three times what the Aldi planter costs. So if you’re aiming for trendy or custom-look planters on your porch, deck, or patio, this Aldi wooden box planter definitely strikes those notes, and it does so for a fraction of the cost.

Here’s more information about the box planter, according to Aldi:

  • Available in Gray or Natural Wood Finish
  • Overall dimensions: 27.36″ x 15.94″ x 45.27″
  • Box dimensions : 25.98″ x 6.49″ x 6.69″
  • Features three levels for planting in small spaces
  • Ideal for garden, balcony, or terrace
  • Thee plastic foil inserts included
  • Assembly instructions and materials included

This box planter comes with a three-year warranty.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet purchased this box planter, so we don’t know how easy it is to assemble or how durable it is. We write open threads so readers can share about their experiences with products.

  1. I just purchased the Belavi 3-Tier Wooden Box Planter today and assembled it. I got it at the clearance price of $24 ish and am happy about the extra value! It was very easy to put together. I have a power drill so I used it but could have assembled it with just a screwdriver and you could go rogue and use a nail gun for the boxes. Everything fits together well, it is a bit uneven and rocking but I can’t tell if it’s my concrete deck or this product or both. The gray wood finish looks great and I can’t wait to fill it with some flowers and herbs. The boxes are a little more narrow than I was thinking they would be but plenty big for lots of cute plants. Very pleased!

  2. Would this be good for strawberries? How durable does the wood seem? Does it have a liner that covers only the bottoms, or the full box? Thank you!

  3. I’ve never grown strawberries but the planter seems spacious enough for them! The wood is durable and the wood bottom of each shelf has a hole for drainage as well as the liners which cover the whole box, not just the bottom.

  4. I just purchased 4 of these at a deep discount of $13.79 each. I have not assembled them but they well serve as my winter garden.

  5. I purchased this at my local Aldi for $24.99. It was very easy to assemble! I purchased a set of 4 wheels on Amazon so I could swing around weekly to get sufficient sun all around. I was surprised that the liner was just trash bag material as I was hoping it was pvc or something but I don’t think that will affect the future function. My herbs are doing great and I wish I bought two!

  6. Does anyone know what size wood screws it takes (24) for box attachment, missing from box!
