When I was in college, I took a badminton class during one semester for PE credit. I had limited experience playing badminton prior to that, but it was an easy game to learn. I joined up with three other students in the class — one female and two males — and we played boys against girls each week. We quickly became friends, enjoying conversation and light competition during our in-class games. I was never terribly athletic or gifted in sports, and I disliked most PE classes in elementary through high school, but I found badminton to be a low-pressure and accessible game that is fun even for people who don’t consider themselves to be serious athletes.

While we played badminton indoors in a large gymnasium when I was a student, badminton is just as often played outdoors. It can be a great lawn or driveway game, and all you need is a net, rackets, and some birdies.

Aldi is selling a badminton set as parts of its limited-edition specials.

What We Know:

Crane EZ Set Up Badminton Set

The Crane EZ Set Up Badminton Set cost $24.99 at the time of publication. That’s cheaper than most other badminton sets on Amazon.

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not in stock at your local store.

This is sold under the Crane brand, which is not a company. Instead, it’s the Aldi private label for various outdoors or sports-related products. Other Crane products Aldi has sold over the years include an exercise mat, a bodyweight training set, and crosstrainer shoes.

Here’s more information about the set, according to Aldi:

  • Fast and easy set up; simply unfold the poles, attach the net, and you’re ready to play
  • Perfect for the entire family; up to 4 players
  • Features all-weather construction with integrated slide scorer
  • Easy to store and transport — poles and frame simply collapse into the base
  • Includes built-in accessory storage
  • All accessories included: 4 rackets, 2 shuttlecocks, and 1 net
  • Net dimensions: 5′ 1″ H x 15′ W

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried this badminton set, so we don’t know how easy it is to set up or how well it works. We write open threads so readers can talk about Aldi products.
