Many years ago, someone I know complained about how busy his local gym would get in January. Everyone, he said, would come out to try and get fit for the New Year. Fortunately (at least in his view), the crowds would thin out by March, and he’d have his pick of the machines again.

January and February remain the prime months for people to get back into shape. It’s right after the winter holidays — and all the food that comes with that time — and it’s during the cold months when people might feel a little cooped up. For some people, the local fitness center is the way to go. For others, the preferred option is bringing the fitness center home to them.

Aldi has long leaned into the post-New Year exercise equipment trend. Over the years, the grocer has stocked treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes, not to mention strength training and stretching equipment. It’s no surprise, then, to see a bodyweight training set make its way into Aldi stores during the early months of the year.

What We Know:

The Crane Bodyweight Training Set (Product Code: 820506) is an Aldi Find. That means it’s only in stores for a limited time. Once it’s sold out, you won’t be able to get in stores until it comes back, which may not be until next year, if ever. Aldi doesn’t ship online, so if you can’t find it in stores, you’re out of luck.

At the time of this post, the sets cost $14.99 each. That looks to be less than any other set I spotted on Amazon.

You can choose from the following:

  • Suspended Door Trainer

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tested these sets, so we don’t know how well they perform or how long they last. We’ve created this open thread for users to share their experiences.

Do you have any experience with these sets? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I’ve used this same Aldi suspension trainer for around 7 years, and it does the job. The scheme to secure over the top of a doorway didn’t work with my doors, so I found a way to attach to an over the door clothing hook. Later I upgraded to attaching to a ceiling cleat. The straps themselves are set up the same as for TRX, except no extra foot loop on the handle. No big deal, I actually added loops with some webbing and haven’t used them yet. This is a great way to get a body weight workout without paying the hefty TRX price
