Deutsche Küche Triple Chocolate Muesli

It’s German week at Aldi. That means schnitzel with noodles and lots of our favorite things.

Among the spritz cookies and strudel and peanut puffs that fill the shelves during German week, you’ll also find a breakfast staple: muesli.

Aldi sells muesli in several varieties during this week. They offer a more traditional muesli with no sugar added, with lots of raisins, nuts and whole grains.

Aldi also sometimes sells a triple chocolate muesli that features whole grain cereal with various types of chocolate. Here, I’m taking a look at the triple chocolate muesli. The box describes it as “whole grain cereal with chocolate.”

Deutsche Küche Triple Chocolate Muesli is an Aldi Find. That means it’s in stores for a short time only. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone until the next German week. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.

We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. I paid $3.49 for a 15-ounce box of Deutsche Küche Triple Chocolate Muesli at my local Aldi in April of 2025. That’s about 23 cents per ounce.

This is a product of Germany.

If you’re looking out for allergens, this contains wheat, milk, and tree nuts (almonds). It may contain peanuts, other tree nuts, soy, and sesame.

The box features a recipe for muesli applesauce muffins (pictured below). This same recipe appears on the regular muesli box Aldi sells. I’m not certain, but I’m not sure it’s an ideal recipe for chocolate muesli. I think it would be better for the more traditional muesli.

One box contains about seven 2/3-cup servings. One serving has 280 calories, 10 grams of total fat (12% DV), 4 grams of saturated fat (19% DV), 150 mg of sodium (7% DV), 42 grams of total carbohydrates (15% DV), 5 grams of dietary fiber (18% DV), 10 grams of total sugars, 10 grams of added sugars (20% DV), and 6 grams of protein.

This has a carbs-to-fiber ratio of 8.4:1. That’s pretty good, but do keep in mind that some of the carbs in this come from added sugar.

This is not like traditional muesli, which has a softer, chewier texture and is much less sweet.

I almost didn’t pick this chocolate version up, but I’m glad I did. It is sweet and crunchy, more like a granola. It’s good with milk or eaten as is by the handful. It features little rolled bits of milk chocolate and white chocolate, and it is delicious. The 10 grams of added sugars probably help with that, so I consider it something to be enjoyed in moderation.

The Verdict:

Deutsche Küche Triple Chocolate Muesli is more like a granola cereal. It’s crispy, sweet, and chocolatey. We don’t anticipate this lasting long in our house.
