Ferrex 12V Cordless Reciprocating Saw Heading to Aldi

This post is an open thread and contains affiliate links

Aldi isn’t a hardware store, but the grocer does occasionally sell some tools and home improvement products. Through the years, I’ve seen Aldi sell pole saws, cordless screwdrivers, electric chainsaws, and cordless rotary tool kits.

The latest weekly Aldi ad features a variety of tools, including a cordless impact drill, an air compressor, a hammer multi tool, and a wrench multi tool.

Another item in the weekly ad is a cordless reciprocating saw. Let’s take a closer look.

What We Know:

Ferrex 12V Cordless Reciprocating Saw

The Ferrex 12V Cordless Reciprocating Saw is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store should receive one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.

This is scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores December 10th, 2025.

The reciprocating saw cost $24.99 in 2025. That’s considerably less than any similar saws I found on Amazon.

Here’s more information, according to Aldi:

  • A compact and cordless tool to help complete jobs with ease
  • A USB-C rechargeable tool, with the charging cable included
  • A tool for sawing wood, perfect for any DIY enthusiast

This is sold under the Ferrex brand. That’s not a manufacturer. Instead, it’s the name Aldi puts on the tools it sells, which it sources from various suppliers.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet purchased this saw, so we don’t know how well it works or how durable it is. We also don’t know if this comes with any kind of warranty. We write open threads such as this one to provide a place for readers to discuss Aldi products.

  1. Bought one to use to trim small limbs and cut smaller boards when I don’t want to have to drag out power cords and heavier equipment.
Recently used it to trim my wooden gate where it had been sagging.
Installed a ‘leveling kit” on it and when installed, it would no longer close.
Used this product to trim approximately 1/4-1/2″ off a wolmanized 2×4.
I used a different blade from my sawzall but I was/am very pleased with saw!
I also trimmed a few limbs and was pleased.
I recommend it although have concerns about life span and lack of replacement options when battery finally totally dies.
Comes w/a 2 year warranty as I recall.
Imagine they will simply refund sales price IF you saved receipt as I do not see them having spares in 2 years.

    1. Thanks for the info! You are correct that it’s likely they might refund rather than replace if you have problems with the saw down the road. That’s common with a lot of Aldi products that have warranties.

  2. UPDATE:
Recently used it to cut thru an 8″ mesquite limb.
Used a 9″ reciprocating wood saw blade.
Took 2 & a half charges to get thru but slow and steady worked great.
When recharging it, my charging lights no longer work so charge with an ammeter device so I can see when it stops drawing power then I know it’s full.
While using, the lights display charge left but NOT when charging.
Unit never overheated or complained just ran like a sewing machine until out of battery.
VERY PLEASED as I didn’t have an extension cord long enough to get to tree and didn’t want to get out small generator for recip saw.
