Park Street Deli Lunch Kits

About five years ago, fellow Aldi Reviewer writer Joshua reviewed some new Park Street Deli Lunch Kits we spotted in the refrigerated aisle at Aldi. They were essentially an Aldi take on name-brand Lunchables. They featured single-serving trays with compartments filled with lunch meat (ham or turkey), cheese slices, crackers, and a dessert consisting of either chocolate chip cookies or a small Butterfinger candy bar. They even included an Aldi-brand pouch drink similar to Capri Sun. Then, seemingly as suddenly as the lunch kits appeared, they disappeared from Aldi stores.
Now, years later, I spotted new Park Street Deli Lunch Kits during a recent Aldi shopping trip. They feature whimsical packaging with little polar bears and penguins. I bought them to try at home.
Park Street Deli Lunch Kits appear to be Regular Buys, so you should be able to find them at Aldi all year, assuming Aldi does not discontinue them this time. You’ll find them stocked in the store’s refrigerated section near the lunch meats, cheese, name-brand Lunchables, and other deli items. These are fully cooked and should be kept refrigerated. These are a product of Canada.
These lunch kits come in two varieties: Uncured Ham & Cheese or Smoked Turkey & Cheese. These revamped lunch kits don’t include drinks like the old lunch kits did, but they have all the other components of a Lunchable: sliced meat, sliced cheese, crackers, and a small dessert.
These cost $2.29 for a 2.9-ounce lunch kit at my local store at the time of writing. That comes out to about 79 cents per ounce.
For comparison, I found Armour LunchMakers meal kits selling for $1.18 for a 2.44-ounce package, or about 49 cents per ounce, at Walmart at the time of writing. Name-brand Lunchables without a drink were selling for $1.87 for a 3.2-ounce package, or about 58 cents per ounce, at Walmart at the time of writing. That means the Aldi lunch kits are on the pricier side.
Both Aldi lunch kits have lengthy ingredients lists and contain processed ingredients. However, that is usually the case with any Lunchable type of meal kit.
Keep reading for more information about each variety.
Park Street Deli Uncured Ham & Cheese Lunch Kit:

This contains sliced smoked uncured ham, colby cheese slices, crackers, and mini oatmeal cookies. The package states no nitrate or nitrite was added to the ham except for those naturally occurring in sea salt and cultured celery extract. The pork was raised with no antibiotics or added hormones.
We liked this kit. Everything tastes similar to what you’d get in a name-brand Lunchable, and the mini oatmeal cookies are good. (We also like that the cookies don’t have raisins like many oatmeal cookies do.)

If you’re looking out for allergens, this kit contains wheat, milk, and soy. It may contain eggs, coconut, and sesame.
One package has 270 calories, 15 grams of total fat (19% DV), 6 grams of saturated fat (30% DV), 540 mg of sodium (24% DV), 25 grams of total carbohydrates (9% DV), less than 1 gram of dietary fiber (3% DV), 6 grams of total sugars, 5 grams of added sugars (11% DV), and 12 grams of protein.
Park Street Deli Smoked Turkey & Cheese Lunch Kit:

This contains sliced smoked turkey, colby cheese slices, crackers, and chocolate flavored bear cookies (similar to Teddy Grahams). The label states the turkey was raised with no antibiotics or hormones, and federal regulations prohibit the use of added growth hormones in poultry.
This is also a good lunch kit. Again, it all tastes like what you’d get in a name-brand Lunchable. We thought the chocolate bear cookies, which are like Teddy Grahams but larger, were very good.

If you’re looking out for allergens, this contains wheat, milk, and soy. It may contain eggs, coconut, and sesame.
One package has 260 calories, 13 grams of total fat (17% DV), 4.5 grams of saturated fat (23% DV), 570 mg of sodium (25% DV), 25 grams of total carbohydrates (9% DV), 1 gram of dietary fiber (4% DV), 6 grams of total sugars, 5 grams of added sugars (11% DV), and 12 grams of protein.
The Verdict:
Park Street Deli Lunch Kits come in ham and cheese or turkey and cheese varieties and are a knockoff of name-brand Lunchables. Each kit contains sliced lunch meat, sliced cheese, crackers, and a dessert (either mini oatmeal cookies or chocolate bear cookies). You can probably find lunch kits that cost less, including Lunchables, but in terms of taste these are good.
