Specially Selected Tomato Parmesan Bisque Gourmet Soup

In many parts of the country, the leaves are changing colors, the weather is turning cool, and we’re pulling sweaters and cardigans out of closet storage. That means it’s soup season. Some of my favorites include homemade chili and homemade tomato basil Parmesan soup.

If I don’t have the time to make homemade soup, Aldi sells plenty of ready-made soup selections. Some of my family’s favorites include the discount grocery store’s French onion soup or loaded baked potato soup, both of which are specials that only show up for a limited time at some point during the colder months. In terms of everyday Aldi products, their canned chili, with or without beans, is also not bad.

This fall, some other Aldi soups caught my attention. Among all the canned soups are two types of jarred soups: tomato Parmesan bisque and creamy carrot bisque. Bisque is a thick, creamy, pureed soup, once mostly known for containing seafood such as lobster, but now it also includes vegetable-based soups.

I bought both Aldi jarred bisques to try, and today I’m looking at the tomato Parmesan bisque.

Ready to eat.

This soup smells good as soon as you open the jar. I heated the soup in a saucepan on my stove top. It was hot and simmering within minutes. It has a very smooth, creamy texture with small, soft pieces of diced tomatoes and onions. I typically like soups like this to be extremely smooth, but I didn’t mind the small bit of texture from the tomatoes and onions. I also appreciate that this tomato soup is not overly sweet like another tomato soup Aldi sells. This is like a fancy, more robust version of a Campbell’s tomato soup, with slight notes of Parmesan. It’s good as is, but I recommend serving it alongside a grilled cheese sandwich or some crusty bread.

The Verdict:

Specially Selected Tomato Parmesan Bisque Gourmet Soup has a classic smooth and creamy texture with small bits of diced tomato and onion, along with hints of Parmesan flavor. It’s like an amped-up version of a smooth Campbell’s tomato soup and pairs well with grilled cheese or French bread.

I loved this soup! My daughter who is NOT a fan of tomato soup, LOVED this soup and begged for me to make grilled cheese sandwiches to dip in it. I went back to the store and bought a few more jars, when I tried to go back and buy some more a week later (after my daughter’s positive verdict), they were gone. I tried 6 different Aldi’s hoping to find the soup to stock up, but I was out of luck. It’s June of 2022 so maybe not the best time to try to buy soup, but I REALLY hope they bring it back, it was SOOOO good! Please Aldi, bring back the Tomato Parmesan Bisque in a jar!!!!!
