Sundae Shoppe Mini Ice Cream Cones are New to Aldi

This post is an open thread

When summer comes around, the novelty ice cream and frozen dessert products come out at Aldi. I’ve got my favorites, including chocolate-covered bananas, orange cream bars, fudge bars, M&M ice cream cookie sandwiches, Snickers ice cream bars, and strawberry and vanilla swirl cones. Many of these products are around just for the summer, so it can be a great time to stock your deep freezer.

During my most recent Aldi run, I found some mini ice cream cones. The price sign indicated these are new at Aldi. They actually look a lot like the Hold the Cone! mini ice cream cones that Aldi’s cousin Trader Joe’s sells. The Aldi mini cones feature vanilla ice cream in a sugar cone, and the ice cream at the top of the cone is coated with a chocolate-flavored shell.

Sundae Shoppe Mini Ice Cream Cones are currently listed as a Seasonal Item on Aldi’s website. A Seasonal Item is in stores for longer than an Aldi Find, but Aldi does not sell a Seasonal Item all year. In this case, these mini cones are stocked during the summer months, like many Aldi ice cream and frozen dessert products are. So, Aldi will restock them throughout the summer, but as fall approaches, at some point Aldi won’t ship any more of these out to stores. If they’re not in stock at your local store, you can’t order them online from Aldi.

These cost $4.79 at the time of writing for a 22.5-ounce box that contains ten 2.25-ounce mini cones. That comes out to about 21 cents per ounce or about 48 cents per cone.

If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain milk, soy, and wheat. They may contain peanuts. These are kosher certified.

Ingredients include milkfat and nonfat milk, sugar, bleached wheat flour, coconut oil, corn syrup, and whey. They also contain natural and artificial flavors and some other processed ingredients such as xanthan gum, tara gum, and guar gum.
