Aldi Adding an 8-Quart Air Fryer to Its Aldi Finds

Baking and cooking have come a long way. You don’t have to go back more than a couple of centuries to find people slaving over wood or coal stoves, if not a simple open flame. Since then, the development of gas and electric ovens and ranges, microwaves, digital programmable pressure cookers, and other appliances have made it much, much easier to whip up a fully cooked meal. Not only do these tools cook efficiently, but they’re versatile and suitable for a wide variety of foods.

Air fryers are another important appliance, and perhaps an underrated one. Essentially a convection oven, air fryers blow air over food to push the cold air away. That helps the food cook up much faster, to say nothing of crispier. It’s healthier and less messy than a deep fryer while producing similar results.

Aldi is known to sell plenty of cooking appliances in its middle aisle, and now it is selling a large air fryer.

What We Know:

The Ambiano 8-Quart Digital Air Fryer (Product Code: 708727) is an Aldi Find. That means it’s only in stores for a limited time. Once it’s sold out, you won’t be able to find it in stores until it comes back, whenever that might be. If it’s not in stock at your local store, you can’t order it online.

At the time of this post, this air fryer costs $79.99. That’s lower than most, if not all, other air fryers of this size that we can find online.

We’ve previously reviewed two other Aldi air fryers and had good experiences with them. We reviewed the 2.7 quart Ambiano Air Fryer in 2019 and found it to be a solid appliance for cooking. We upgraded to the Ambiano 6 Quart Air Fryer in 2022 and found it a worthy successor that allowed us to cook larger quantities of food faster than with the smaller model. If the track record is any indication, we would expect this 8-quart model to also be a promising cooking utility.

Additionally, here’s more information about the 8-quart air fryer, according to Aldi:

  • Available in Black or Pale Aqua
  • Adjustable temperature range up to 400 °F
  • Features digital touchscreen display with automatic shutoff and audible tone
  • Sleek matte finish exterior
  • Dishwasher Safe nonstick basket and crisping tray for easy cleanup

What We Don’t Know:

While we’ve tested two of this air fryer’s smaller siblings, we haven’t tested out this one. For that reason, we can’t speak to how well it works, even if we’ve had good experiences with the other ones. We write open threads so readers can discuss Aldi products.

The control panel pictured on this 8-qt. Ambiano air fryer looks pretty similar to the one on my 6-qt. Cosori. At $79.99, the 8-qt. Ambiano matches the Amazon Prime Day price I paid for my Cosori, but has a larger capacity. I would love to hear from someone who tried roasting a chicken in this large-capacity Ambiano air fryer, as the ability to roast whole poultry (or maybe even a turkey breast?) is a popular test of the capabilities of larger air fryers.

  2. I just bought this one Monday. I’ve never used an air fryer at all. I’m trying out the dehydrator now. I’m just unsure how long to leave the onions in the basket. I’m also curious if when making a roast, burgers, chicken, rice etc.. if you need a separate dish inside the basket. Help needed.

I have roasted a whole chicken in my Cosori air fryer (smaller than the 8-qt. model at Aldi) and did not need a separate dish to set it in. You wouldn’t need a separate dish for burgers, either, but you certainly would for rice. (Although you’d probably want to use a slow cooker or electric pressure cooker for rice instead of an air fryer, if you didn’t have a dedicated rice cooker.) I haven’t tried cooking a roast in an air fryer, although I imagine it would be possible in an 8-qt. model. You shouldn’t need a separate dish for a roast, but you should flip the roast upside down halfway through the cooking time (as you also would need to do for a whole chicken). A package of air fryer parchment paper sheets (same size & shape as the inside of your air fryer’s basket, but with holes to allow air circulation) will help cut down on any mess from meat drippings. There are lots of YouTube videos of air fryer recipes, which can be very helpful if you’re new to air fryers.
