EDITOR’S NOTE: We purchased this cat tower once it arrived in our local store, and we assembled it and let our cat put it through the paces. Read our full review of the tower here

I’m a cat lady. I grew up with multiple cats in my family’s home, and there’s never been a time when I didn’t own a cat. My senior citizen cat — fondly known around here as The Aldi Reviewer Cat — has been a great help over the years when it comes to trying out the various cat products Aldi sells, from dozy den beds to warming mats and cat treats.

I like to pamper my cat, within reason, and late last summer I researched tall cat towers. I wanted one to put in my enclosed sunroom so The Aldi Reviewer Cat would have a nice perch to watch the birds and squirrels from. I quickly realized that cat towers at pet stores such as PetSmart or Petco are expensive, often running $100 to $200 for a tower that stands four feet or taller and has multiple hangout levels.

I ended up purchasing a 5-foot-tall cat tower from Amazon for about $65. I felt like I got a good deal considering how expensive cat towers can be in pet stores. It’s been a fun addition to our house. My kids and I refer to it as Fluffingham Palace, and The Aldi Reviewer Cat likes to sleep inside a little house section on a middle level.

Then, during the winter of 2023, Aldi introduced a large cat tower that looks a lot like what I bought off Amazon. My curiosity was piqued. We can always use another cat tower, right? Maybe for the basement.

What We Know:

Heart to Tail 44" Cat Tower

The Heart to Tail 44″ Cat Tower cost $59.99 in February of 2023. You might be able to find some more full-featured, tall cat towers for less on Amazon, but this seems pretty competitively priced. It also looks almost exactly like a well-reviewed cat tower on Amazon that’s sold by FEANDREA for the exact same price as the Aldi tower at the time of publication, except the tower on Amazon is only 37.8 inches tall while the Aldi tower is 44 inches tall.

This Aldi cat tower is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back at some later point. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not in stock at your area store.

Heart to Tail is not a company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for assorted pet products such as cat food, dog treats, cat condos, cat playhouses, pet vehicle barriers, and more.

What We Don’t Know:

I haven’t yet gotten my hands on this cat tower, so I don’t know how easy it is to assemble or how durable it is. Aldi has not yet published any specific information about the dimensions of this cat tower, other than the fact that it stands 44 inches tall. At the time of writing, Aldi also has not published any information about whether this tower comes with any kind of warranty.

I plan to buy one of these towers as soon as they arrive in stores, and The Aldi Reviewer Cat and I will put it through a full review and compare it to the one I bought last summer off Amazon. In the meantime, we wanted to publish this open thread to give readers a place to talk about the cat tower.

  1. Got it today, easy assembly and the cat seems pleased. I don’t really have much experience with cat trees/towers so I can’t really compare it, but I have no complaints.

  2. I got it today to replace one that was looking pretty ratty. It’s very plush and my large (17 lb.) cat loves it. The top bed is very comfy and large enough for him to perch up there comfortably. The cubby holes seem large enough and there’s plenty of room for him to curl up and nap.
My only disappointment is the hammock. It’s very small–about the size of a vinyl record album. I doubt he’ll be able to use it, although it’s sturdy. Assembly should have been easier, but I eventually figured everything out. Give yourself plenty of time.
The top tower is 11 X 15 inside the cushion siding. This is a very nice tower. Comes with a little bag of nip to help aid your cat to use the scratching post.
I would have paid much more for this elsewhere. The color is a slate gray. I love it and kitty is very happy with it. No problems transitioning from the old tower.
    Go for it.

  3. Directions are easy to follow It took me 50 minutes to put together. The last part was a bit confusing when putting the perch on since I didn’t read the directions for that part. So far I just put it together & the cats haven’t been excited to jump up on it yet. It seems like it would be a good idea to have the tower up against a wall since the one side seems to be heavier. I hope they will enjoy using it!
