Open Thread: Ambiano Mini Waffle Maker

Waffles are a classic favorite for breakfast or brunch, and nothing is better than fresh, hot homemade waffles. The waffle-making station is one of my favorite things about hotel breakfast buffets, but you don’t have to stay in a hotel to get good waffles. You can buy an inexpensive waffle maker to use on your own kitchen counter.

Aldi has sold various waffle makers over the years, and I own one. My family likes to use Aunt Maple’s Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix or Aunt Maple’s Protein Pancake and Waffle Mix in our waffle maker, and we top our waffles with Aunt Maple’s Syrup or Specially Selected 100% Pure Maple Syrup.

This spring, Aldi decided to also sell a mini waffle maker for people who want pint-sized bites of doughy breakfast goodness.

What We Know:

Ambiano Mini Waffle Maker

The Ambiano Mini Waffle Maker (product code 703410) cost $8.99 in March of 2021. As far as we can tell, this is the first time Aldi has sold a mini waffle maker, although they’ve sold full-sized waffle makers many times since we began blogging about Aldi.

This is an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means it’s only in stores for a short time, and Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so once it sells out at your local store, it’s gone.

Here’s more information about the mini waffle maker:

  • Available in Mint or Red
  • Makes 4″ classic waffles
  • Features 4″ nonstick coated cooking plates
  • Compact and easy to store
  • Features a ready indicator light

The mini waffle maker comes with a three-year warranty serviced by Sensio, now known as Made By Gather, which provides warranty service for a few other Aldi products, including the Ambiano Ceramic Copper Titanium 10.5″ x 20″ Griddle and the Ambiano Electric Smokeless Grill. Made By Gather makes a variety of small kitchen appliances and accessories and produces brands such as Bella, Crux, and Brim.

What We Don’t Know:

We have not yet tried the Ambiano Mini Waffle Maker, so we don’t know how well it works. We write open threads to serve as a place for people to share about their experiences with a product.

  1. I bought this mini waffle maker and was super happy to use .It only heated up one time and then it stopped working. I’m going to contact the manufacturer and see if I can get a replacement.
