Most years in the fall, Aldi sells some tools and equipment for getting your home, garage, or workshop in shape for the coming cold weather. That includes electric blowers, chainsaws, pole saws, and loppers, just to name a few.

A wet/dry vacuum — or Shop-Vac, as it is sometimes known — is a useful tool to keep around. It’s valuable for cleaning up all kinds of messes, especially ones that a regular house vacuum can’t handle. Aldi is known to sell just such a wet/dry vacuum from time to time.

What We Know:

Ferrex 6-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum

The Ferrex 6-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum (product code 808286) is an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means it’s only at Aldi for a short time. Once it sells out, it’s gone, and you’ll have to wait until the next year for a 6-gallon wet/dry vac to return to store shelves.

This vacuum cost $49.99 in 2021. The price has fluctuated over the years: Aldi sold this same vacuum in 2020 for $39.99, but sold another 6-gallon wet/dry vacuum under its WORKZONE private label for $44.99 in June of 2019. Aldi also sold a small handheld wet/dry vacuum for $24.99 earlier in 2020.

That all said, the 2021 price is less than most other comparably equipped vacs out there.

Features for the Ferrex 6-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum include:

  • A 4.0 Peak HP Motor
  • A 6′ hose, 2 extension wands, crevice nozzle, gulper nozzle, bristled floor brush with small wheels, foam filter, disposable filter bag, and reusable cloth filter with mounting ring
  • Swiveling castors for ease of movement on all surfaces
  • A blower port that instantly converts vacuum to power blower
  • An accessory holder
  • A built-in drain
  • A 6′ power cord with built-in storage
  • A handle for carrying ease

The 2020 model came with a 3-year warranty. We don’t yet know what the 2021 model’s warranty looks like.

What We Don’t Know:

We write open threads on products we have not yet tried, so we haven’t yet put this wet/dry vac through the paces. We also don’t know who manufacturers it or if it comes with a warranty.

  1. I recently purchased the Ferrex 6gal wet/dry vac. I cannot find how to attach the disposable filter bag anywhere!
    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you,

    • Hi. I have the same VAC. Found the bags on Amazon Original Manufacturer Filter Bags for Porter-Cable and Stanley 4 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum – 3 Pack

    • It is on pages 18 – 19 in the manual, and refers to it as a “cloth filter”. It also refers to illustrated parts by number from the inside cover. It states: “The reusale cloth filter #16 and foam filter #18 should be regularly cleaned for best performance. (1) Switch the vacuum off, unplus the power cord #3 and let the vacuum cool off completely. (2) Undo the latches #5 and remove the motor head #4 from the vacuum with the handle #2 (see Fig A). (3) Lift the clamp ring #17 and then the reusable cloth filter off from the filter cage #19 (see Fig E). (4) Remove the foam filter from the filter cage. (5) Preliminarily clean both filters by gently tapping or brushing the dirt off. This should NOT be done indoors in the living areas. (6) Use a mild soap and water solution to wash the filters and rinse with clean water. (7) Allow both filters to air dry thoroughly before installing them back on the filter cage. NOTE: After cleaning, check the reusable cloth filter for tears and small holes. Do not use a damaged filter. Even a small hole can cause a lot of dust to come out from the vacuum. Replace a damaged filter immediately (see chapter “Replacing filters”).

  2. Love this shop vac. I like the tall/ thin profile which is more compact than my original shop vac. I find this is my go to vac rather than my upright house vac or my squatty shop vac. I also like the cloth filter, easy to clean and prefer over the accordion canister types.
Highly recommend…. Just get in line AFTER ME!

  3. My vacuum won’t turn on it did for 1,min then that was it
