EDITOR’S NOTE: This is a review of the 2021 plant stand. Aldi has sold the same stand every year since then. See our update toward the end of this post about how the stand has held up over several years of use.

If you’ve shopped at Aldi for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed it’s a good place to get inexpensive plants — both indoor houseplants and even a few outdoor garden plants.

I’m always spotting various houseplants in the weekly ad. Aldi houseplants I’ve collected over the years include orchids, a fiddle leaf fig, lucky bamboo, snake plants, succulents, pothos, crotons, umbrella plants, a Venus fly trap, and more.

I used to be able to fit all of my houseplants in my greenhouse-style kitchen window. When that got crowded, I turned an Aldi laundry cart into a houseplant stand in my living room, and it drew compliments from visiting friends. The laundry-cart-turned-plant-stand is now filling up as well, and its shelves are narrow and only fit my smallest pots.

I started browsing Amazon for larger dedicated plant stands or plant shelves. Then Aldi came through for me and introduced a wooden plant ladder stand in 2021 that is similar to many of the stands I was already looking at from other retailers. Aldi has sold this wooden stand every spring since then. Aldi had previously sold various smaller metal plant stands, but that was the first time I’d seen Aldi sell a large wood stand like this.

Belavi Wooden Plant Ladder Stand

The Belavi Wooden Plant Ladder Stand cost $39.99 when I bought it in April of 2021. Aldi sold it again for $39.99 in the spring of 2022 and 2023. Then, in March of 2024, Aldi dropped the price to $24.99. Aldi sold it for $24.99 in March of 2025 and March of 2026 as well. The price for this stand is competitive compared to wooden plant stands on Amazon.

Belavi is an Aldi house brand that encompasses a range of garden and outdoor supplies. Belavi is not a company; it’s simply the name Aldi puts on these types of products.

This is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time, and stock may be limited. Each store should get one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone until next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so after this sells out at your local store, you can’t buy it online from Aldi.

Here are a few details about the plant ladder stand from Aldi:

  • Measures 39.4″ x 13.8″ x 43.1″
  • Plants not included
  • Great for indoor or outdoor use
  • Features a wooden frame
  • Has three shelves to display your favorite plants
  • The top shelf holds up to 13.2 pounds, while the middle shelf holds up to 18.7 pounds, and the bottom shelf holds up to 24.3 pounds
  • Available in Natural Wood or Vintage Gray (I bought the Natural Wood style because I didn’t see any Vintage Gray at my store)
  • Made in China
  • Comes with a three-year warranty

The plant ladder stand comes with a three-year warranty serviced by Protel, a German-based after-sales service company that services several Aldi products, including the Gardenline Walk-In Greenhouse as well as Adventuridge backpacks and Visage bathroom scales. For service, call 1-855-754-8297 or email Aldi-US@protel-service.com.

Assembly

What you get inside the box.

The stand is easy to assemble and requires only a crosshead or Phillips screwdriver (not included). When you open the box, there are three primary components: the main A-shaped frame with a moving hinge at the top, and the three shelves of varying sizes. There’s also a bag of screws, a warranty card, and an instruction sheet.

To assemble, open the stand to an angle where the bottom shelf can be fitted onto the bottom treads of the stand. Then fit the middle shelf and top shelf onto their respective treads. It takes a little experimentation to find the ideal angle to open the stand, and to figure out how to position the shelves. Then you’ll secure each shelf to the stand with screws (four for each shelf). Look for the holes to insert the screws to get started. The wood is soft and the screws easily twist through to fasten the shelves on.

There were a few things I noticed while unboxing the stand. First, it has a strong wood smell that I’m guessing is pine. (Many similar stands on Amazon are made of either pine or bamboo.) The packaging doesn’t indicate what type of wood it is, but it does bear a Forest Stewardship Council seal indicating the wood is 100% from well-managed forests.

Also, I saw a fine white dust on a few parts of the shelving. It brushed off easily with my hand, and I wiped most of it off with a slightly damp cloth. The instructions state the stand can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, and you can use a mild detergent (no aggressive cleaners) if there is a stubborn stain, and then let all parts dry completely.

The Finished Product

I’m never sure what I’m going to get with furniture or mid-sized items such as rolling carts or storage carts from Aldi, so I was curious to see how this plant stand turned out. Ultimately, it came together well.

It fits nicely in front of my living room window, where I loaded it up with plants.

Belavi Wooden Plant Ladder Stand

It’s a good-looking stand, and it has a lot more space for my plants compared to the old rolling laundry cart I had been using. It also looks more sophisticated than my rolling cart because it’s an actual piece of wooden furniture.

This holds a good number of potted plants, including some medium-sized pots. It also feels stable and doesn’t wobble or rock.

It’s not a highly finished-looking stand. It has some exposed screws and hinges, but I think that’s the case with most wooden hinged plant stands like this one, and the natural wood color is a popular choice among plant stands on the market now.

The Verdict:

The Belavi Wooden Plant Ladder Stand measures 39.4″ x 13.8″ x 43.1″ and has three shelves that hold a good number of potted plants. The stand feels sturdy and goes together easily with a crosshead screwdriver. If you need a place to put all of the plants you’ve purchased at Aldi, this is worth a look.

UPDATE (2/25/2026) — I owned this plant stand for nearly five years, and it held up great. I got many compliments about how nice it looked in my living room. My only complaint was that the shelves don’t accommodate taller plants. It will hold short plants and even some medium-height plants fine, though. This past year, I replaced the Aldi plant stand with something taller that holds more plants, but the Aldi stand was still in great shape and I gave it away to someone else.

  1. Hello! Thank you for the review. Do you know if I could paint or stain the wood or does it already have a poly coating of some kind?

  2. You are an excellent reviewer. Thank you for your generosity!
Is this plant stand still available fr Aldi? I have a lot of trouble finding these offers fr the Aldi shopping site…unless I go directly to “Aldi finds Limited time ” Etc..and the lack of info for each item is just frustrating! Ty for your thorough detailed reviews. Hope I don’t lose this page. Ty

    1. Unfortunately, it’s not currently in stores. If it’s not in stock at your local store, you can’t order it online.

  3. My wife and I bought the plant ladder from audi’s, but unfortunately the cross boards on the middle shelf were assembled wrong, at 90 degrees. I’ll try to take it back.

  4. I plan to use this stand outside during the summer. How can I protect it from the weather? If so please suggest the type of material I can use to keep it looking as great as when I bought it. Thanks. I need to know the type of used wood used, and the type of stain, paint, etc. to provide as much weather proofing as necessary to maintain it’s look.

  5. I purchased 2 of these plant stands, but have assembled only one so far. I got a chuckle while reading the instructions. The instructions said to extend the life of the unit to avoid, among other things, moisture, humidity and sunlight. It’s a plant stand for crying out loud LOL The only problem I had when assembling was when I followed the instructions to start by putting the lower shelf in place first, the middle shelf wouldn’t fit. I was about to package it up to be returned when my husband passed by and suggested that I put the middle shelf in place first. BINGO! Everything fit together perfectly. Before I assemble the second unit, I plan to paint it…then move the plants that I have on the first unit over to the painted shelves. Then I’ll take the first unit apart and paint that unit. I want to be able to put the units with my plants outside during the summer. All in all, they look great and hold a lot of plants. I did place a couple of grow lights on some of the shelves for my sun loving Rosemary and basil plants
