Boulder Everyday Paper Towels

The middle aisle of an Aldi store makes up the grocer’s most exciting shelves.
It’s not the most important, though.
As cool as air fryers and accent cabinets are, daily lives run on essentials. You know what I’m talking about: bread, milk, eggs, and all of that. You could also toss in things like toothpaste and toilet paper.
And paper towels. Sure, you can get by in many cases with cloth napkins, dishcloths, and the like, but they have limits. You can run out of them before being able to do laundry. Or you might worry about staining a dishcloth. Or — and this is important — you might need them for cleaning up things that you really need to throw away, like certain chemicals or, say, pet waste.
Whatever your reason, most people find having some paper towels on hand is quite useful. The good news is, you can get paper towels from just about anywhere.
Aldi included.
Boulder Everyday Paper Towels are … well, an everyday buy. You can find them in stores all the time. At the time of this post, Aldi sells a few versions of paper towels, including “everyday” versions and an “ultra” version. Here’s what the prices were when I was in store:
- Boulder Everyday, 2 rolls: $2.45
- Boulder Ultra, 2 rolls: $3.99
- Boulder Everyday, 6 rolls: $6.49
I got the 6-roll version, which is the most economical of the three. Since not all rolls are equal, I calculate prices based on price per square foot. In that regard, the 6-roll package has 302.5 square feet, which comes out to 2.1 cents per square foot. The 2-roll Everyday has 100.8 square feet, or 2.4 cents per square foot, while the 2-roll Ultra has 108.2 square feet, or 3.7 cents per square foot.
Not surprisingly, the biggest Aldi roll has the lowest price per square foot.
What about other brands? Walmart’s Great Value Everyday Strong Paper Towels in a similarly sized pack comes out to 2.2 cents per square foot, while Great Value Ultra Strong Paper Towels in a jumbo pack prices out at 2.6 cents per square foot.
This Boulder 6-pack, then appears to be the best value by a slim margin.
As for performance? They do all right. We’ve been using these Boulder paper towels for years and they are respectable enough in doing the things we need paper towels to do. They’re cut in a way that they work well as one-off napkins, and we also use them for other cleaning, whether it’s picking up after the cat or wiping off a kitchen surface that had raw food. Any way we need them, these rolls do what we need them to.
The Verdict:
Boulder Everyday Paper Towels aren’t the most exciting product on Aldi shelves, but they are quite useful. They work as napkins, for mess cleanups, and for all the other things you need paper towels to do. They’re also cheaper than most other paper towels out there, including Walmart’s Great Value. They remain our go-to for paper towels.
