Crofton Pumpkin Casserole Dishes are Back at Aldi

EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated for 2024.
If you want some fall décor for your home or kitchen that also serves a practical purpose, Aldi has just the thing. For yet another year, Aldi is selling its popular pumpkin casserole dishes.
Some people say these look similar to expensive name-brand Le Creuset pumpkin casserole dishes or cocottes. These make a lovely set as part of your autumn table. They’re available in Orange, White, or Blue/Teal.
What We Know:
The first time we saw Aldi sell pumpkin casserole dishes was in the fall of 2020, when the discount grocery store sold mini pumpkin casserole dishes with an 0.8-qt. capacity. Then in the fall of 2021, Aldi sold the pumpkin dishes in several different sizes: large, small, and mini. Those three sizes returned for the 2022, 2023, and 2024 fall seasons.
The Crofton Large Pumpkin Casserole Dish (Product Code: 835676 in 2024) cost $14.99 in September of 2024. That’s the same price Aldi has always sold it for, and it’s a lot less than most other pumpkin-shaped dishes, although how much money you’re willing to spend on pricier casseroles depends on how you want to cook with them.
Aldi has not shared details yet on the 2024 dish, but previously this has featured a 2-quart capacity and is made with high-fired ceramic with a scratchproof glaze. It’s previously been advertised as stain resistant and easy to clean, perfect for oven-to-table baking, and oven safe up to 450 °F (base only). We’re not sure if those things still hold true for this year’s model, and we won’t know until these actually arrive in stores on September 4th, 2024.
The Crofton 2-Pack Mini (Product Code: 835670 in 2024) or 1-Pack Small Pumpkin Casserole Dish (Product Code: 838427 in 2024) each cost $9.99 in September of 2024, which is $1 more than what they cost in 2023. They cost $8.99 in 2021 and $9.99 in the fall of 2022, so the price for these has fluctuated over the years.
Again, Aldi has not yet shared details on the 2024 models, but previously these were 0.8 Quart or a 2-Pack 0.4 Quart with high-fired ceramic with scratchproof glaze. The older models were advertised as stain resistant and easy to clean, perfect for oven-to-table baking, and oven safe up to 450°F (base only).
All of these dishes in their various sizes are great for baking large or small casseroles or vegetables, for baking individual servings of soup (Aldi sometimes sells frozen ready-to-bake soup servings), for serving dips, or for filling with candy or finger foods for the holidays. If nothing else, they look attractive sitting in a glass-door accent cabinet or on a counter, shelf, or table. If you want more ideas for how to use the casserole dishes, you can view a Reddit conversation about the dishes here.
Keep in mind that these dishes are all Aldi Finds, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets just one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone until next year. You cannot order them online if they aren’t in stock at your local store.
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t yet tried these casserole dishes, so we don’t know how well they work or how they hold up with use. Our goal with open thread posts such as this is to offer a space for readers to share about their experiences with a product.

Anybody know if they’re dishwasher safe? I’m assuming the top wouldn’t be due to the metallic stem, but if the base is oven safe, then maybe it’s dishwasher safe? Thoughts?
Hi Kasey- The base is dishwasher safe, yes. The top (cover with stem) is hand wash only, as you suspected.
Thanks! Hope you have a great day!
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for confirming, much appreciated! I grabbed the large size and small size today!
what recipes do you recommend for these pumpkin dish? ive had 2 yrs and never used, I’d love to get a recommendation its almost gobble gobble time, thank you and its my 1st time posting with you
They look like they’d be good for cooking some of the frozen soups Aldi sometimes sells, like this one. https://www.aldireviewer.com/bremer-bistro-french-onion-soup/
I think you could bake individual portions of any type of casserole or baked goods such as brownies or fruit cobblers in these. You might want to keep an eye on things while they bake and possibly bake them for a shorter time since I’m not sure if they would cook faster in smaller portions like this.
I bought a few of these to give as gifts and decided to make pumpkin bread in them. They turned out amazing!!
I want to buy more of the mini ones but didn’t know they were a “thing” and now I can’t find them anywhere. I’ll keep looking 🙂
They should be back in stores October 9th or October 12th of 2022, depending on which day your store sets out new specials.
The large casserole dish is great it bakes very well and cleans very easily. It is dishwasher safe, I put the top in the dishwasher and it was fine too the gold was okay but I would probably continue to just handwash that part.
Can these be ordered if not found in store?
The short answer is no. Aldi doesn’t ship products online.
They’re scheduled to be back at Aldi this week — either on October 9th or October 12th, depending on what day your store sets out new specials.
Can you use the base on a gas cooktop?
These are returning to Aldi the week of September 4th, 2024, while supplies last.
