Open Thread: Belavi Round or Straight Decorative Flower Steps

There are a few things we can count on Aldi bringing back every year at certain times. The discount grocer stocks Wahlburgers on and off during the summer, spiral hams during the winter holidays, and Mexican food leading up to Cinco de Mayo. We see staple patio furniture such as two-person swings, stacking chairs, and rattan storage accent table during the warmer months.

Something I see every spring or summer at Aldi are these round and straight metal steps perfect for placing potted plants on. They’re back at Aldi once again this year. While Aldi has also introduced some new plant shelves that are wooden this year, these powder-coated steel plant shelves are a staple of the summer months at Aldi. They’re great for loading up with flower pots (which you can also find at Aldi, and don’t forget to pick up some potting mix, too).

What We Know:

The Belavi Round Decorative Flower Step and the Belavi Straight Decorative Flower Step cost $29.99 each at the time of publication. That’s a lot less than other decorative step flower display racks, which were going for $50 to $60 each on Amazon at the time of publication.

These are Aldi Finds, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store. If you miss out on purchasing these flower steps this spring, Aldi usually brings these back each year in May or June, so you might be able to find them again next year, but we don’t know for certain if or when Aldi might discontinue them. During 2019 and 2020, Aldi sold these steps for $19.99 each.

These steps come in two different styles — straight and round — and you can use them individually or pair them to create various shapes to fit your specific space. For instance, you can place a straight set of flower steps in between two sets of round flower steps. These steps work in a variety of places, including on porches, patios, and decks, or in sunrooms or greenhouses. You can also use them indoors to display houseplants.

Belavi Straight Decorative Flower Step

Aldi published after-sales support contact information for the straight flower step in 2018. At that time, the service provider was Protel, a common Aldi warranty service provider. However, Aldi has not published any information about warranties or after-sales service for the decorative flower steps this year, so we don’t know if warranty service is available on this year’s models.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet purchased the Belavi Round Decorative Flower Step or the Belavi Straight Decorative Flower Step, so we don’t know how easily they assemble or how durable they are. We create open threads so readers can share about their experiences with products.

  1. I am now on my 3rd set after swearing I would never buy again after the 2nd set…Only reason I DID buy for a 3rd time is that it was on clearance for $7.99 each… These do NOT last beyond 2 years with the 2nd year having rusted almost all the way through…I would never pay full price and I fully expect to be tossing this new set to the trash at the end of next year… Sorry…

  2. Mine didn’t come with assembly instructions. Does anyone have any for the straight steps?

  3. These are on clearance at my store in texas right now for 14.99… im apprehensive given the one review.

  4. I just got a straight set for $14.99, the corner set is $29.99 (!!). Putting them together was tricky at times.
I was planning to spray them with an outdoor satin clear coat as the thin metal surely won’t last without it! Especially since reading Debbie’s remarks. They are perfect for my needs. Most of the time they’ll be under cover so somewhat protected from elements-e don’t have snow here. 🙂🙂🙂

  5. I just purchased one of the round step. It’s not as big as I thought it would be and the directions are very tricky. Also I’m missing a decorative piece for the last step. Anyone have a number I can call?

  6. Just bought TWO straight step shelf plant stands. $30. each. If I WERE going to connect them together, I would need 3 additional screws according to instructions. (Short three screws to connect) EACH stand WAS short ONE screw that’s needed for the shelf. VERY Disappointed since I won’t be disassembling and returning to store… Other than missing screw(s) it seems fine for our patio.

  7. Got the round steps. Came with everything (though the parts list was deceiving). Sadly, the screws that should hold the shelves on (and stabilize the whole system) did not fit in the holes. Took it all apart again, shoved it back in the box, not sure what to do with it now.

  8. CAn’t you return it to the store??. …My issue with this set is that it RUSTS very fast and usually last only 2 seasons at best…I’m on my second set and ONLY bought again because it was the end of the season last fall and was drastically reduced..

  9. I got the straight steps for $15.00 at my local Aldi’s. All pieces were present. It wasn’t difficult to assemble. It seems sturdy, and it looks great on my deck. For the price I paid, I don’t expect it to last forever. I’ll probably spray it with Rustoleum so maybe it will last a few seasons. I wish I’d been able to get m8re than one.

  10. I sprayed mine with a top coat, which peeled off pretty quick!! Mine is exposed to the weather though. But it’s still sturdy, not rusted yet, holds my individual veggie planters this year, last year was many flower pots!!
